Bank of Jamaica honors Bob Marley with his own coin!
The Bank of Jamaica has issued 1,000 gold and silver coins to commemorate the life of the late Bob Marley. The coins, which are produced by the British Royal Mint, can be purchased from the bank for $100 each. They initially were supposed to go on sale in 2005 to correspond with the 60th anniversary of Marley’s birth; it is uncertain why production was delayed until this year. This is the second time Marley has been honored with his own coin. Coins which celebrated his 50th birthday have sold out.
