10 years since Tupac's death...
Wow has it really been ten years?!?!?!
"Almost ten years have passed since Tupac Shakur died, and hip hop still mourns its fallen soldier.
To commemorate the tragedy of his death, the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation will host a ceremony on Saturday, September 9, in the Peace Garden at the Tupac Shakur Center in Georgia. The Foundation asks those attending the ceremony to bring a plant in memory of a loved one.
Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother, originally planned to spend that day in South Africa. However, for personal reasons Ms. Shakur rescheduled for June 16, 2007, which coincides both with the anniversary of the Soweto uprising and what would have been Tupac’s 36th birthday.
After attending a boxing match in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot while riding in Suge Knight’s car on the Las Vegas strip. He died six days later at a Las Vegas hospital.
In his memory, Afeni Shakur founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation. The Foundation provides programs that allow children to study the arts."
