Box Office Thursday: Who's #1 & What Movie to see
I'm so excited to see that The Rock's new movie is still up in the top box office list! This means MORE of him on the big screen! All he needs is a big action movie to break him out in the exclusive & beloved 20-million dollar club that Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Chris Tucker and Jim Carrey are all apart of. The number one spot is given to an ANIMATED film. America has learned to embrace animated flicks thanks in HUGE part to mega-successes "Toy Story", "The Lion King", "Monsters, Inc.", "Finding Nemo", and "Shark Tale."
Here's the official top box office of the week:

Little Miss Sunshine
But what to go and catch this weekend?! Hmm....I'm on undecided between "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Departed" but I'm leaning towards "The Departed." Why? Maybe it's the star quality---Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Vera Farmiga are all in the movie. I see this movie as the potential spin-off to "Ocean's Twelve" but I can be wrong. You know how Hollywood like to copy an original until the point of no return. {ie. remember these films from yesteryears? Charlie's Angels: Blue Crush, XXX: The Bourne Identity, and so on!} But on the flip side, there's this independent gem, "Little Miss Sunshine" that caught my attention when I went to see "Strangers with Candy."
Bottom line: Go see "The Departed" while I remain undecided this weekend! The new Jack Nicholson movie may pose a threat to box office favorites "Fearless" and "Gridion Gang."
