ATL is the place to be right about now. BET kicked off their FIRST Hip-Hop Awards ceremony last night but I'm here going what's the difference between this and their annual BET Awards?!?!! Considering the fact that BET airs urban {re: hip-hop, R&B, crunk, rap} on their channell, why this and why now?!?! Maybe when the clean-up verison to tonight's festival airs Tuesday night I might get a full explaination why two awards show?!?! The show was the brainchild formed by Debra Lee and comedian/host Katt Williams.

"Flash, T.I. top BET Hip Hop roll
ATLANTA - Grandmaster Flash was a winner in three categories at the first-ever BET Hip Hop Awards last night.
T.I. won Best Hip Hop Video, CD and MVP of the Year honors. Grandmaster Flash was honored with the I Am Hip Hop Icon award. When Flash received the award, he gave recognition to all the other deejays he has met, saying being a deejay was better than rapping.
"To get an award for my technological ability means a whole lot more than anything else I've accomplished in my life," he said.
The award show airs Wednesday."
