Box Office Thursday:::A Good Year is a MUST-SEE!
Thursday's almost over here and the weekend's right around the corner. Even better, isn't it? Well here's the Thursday installment of Box Office Thursday.
Borat was the box office winner of the week--no surprise there! I am happy to see The Departed is still up in the top box office list. The Santa Clause is ranked number two. I guess everyone is in the Christmas mood, huh? Ryan Phillippe's divorce did help him out a bit---his new movie is number seven.

Here are the films opening this weekend and who's starring in it:
A Good Year {the new Russell Crowe}
Harsh Times {Christian Bale's in it}
The Return {soap opera vet Sarah Michelle Gellar stars in it}
Stranger Than Fiction {SNL alum Will Ferrell's new comedy}

Stranger Than Fiction {SNL alum Will Ferrell's new comedy}
**Click on each movie title to get a brief summary!**
Will Ferrell's new movie is something I want to watch because it reminds me a lot of the Jim Carrey movie, "Bruce Almighty." "Stranger than Ficiton" is about a man who's life is narrated by a prominent author. The author drives Will mad because he's the ONLY one who can hear her voice. Sort of like God talking to Jim Carrey in "Bruce Almighty", isn't it? "Stranger than Life" takes "Bruce Almighty" to the next comical level.
Sarah Michelle Gellar's new film venture, "The Return" highlights her strength---horror! SMG is known for her TV role as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" so her new role is not too far away from her "Buffy" days. But don't let pigeonhole her SMG has proven she had act in comedy and drama. Don't you remember her from her "All My Children" soap operas starring as Erica Kane's daugther or her "Scooby Doo" days starring alongside husband actor Freddie Prinze Jr?
My pick: "A Good Year"
This was a tough call! I'm a Russell Crowe and Christan Bale fan. Both actors have two MUST-SEE films opening this weekend! But Russell Crowe wins with his new movie, "A Good Year" as my pick for Box Office Thursday because he tapped into my hopelessly romantic side. {yes I know!} According to movies.yahoo.com, "A Good Year" is about, "Russell Crowe plays failing banker who inherits a vineyard, only to encounter a beautiful girl who has her own claim on the estate."
