And in related news Beyonce is reportedly the highest paid Black actress in Hollywood. {Huh? Bee topped Halle?!?}
"Beyonce is set to break a record with her role as Deena Jones in the forthcoming flick 'Dreamgirls.'Despite having to lose more than 20 lbs for the lead role in the movie about a Motown-style girl group (which is loosely based on Diana Ross and The Supremes), BK raked in big bucks when she signed on the dotted line.The 'Irreplaceable' singer saw her fee rise to $12.5 million that is twice as much as she earned for her last major film role, as a "black empowered" secret agent in 'Austin Powers in Goldmember.'Not only is her swollen bank balance bulging from that fee but she is expected to make a further $22 million from soundtrack sales. Those royalties where made almost certain when her father/manager/svengali Mathew Knowles negotiated the deal. If the forecasted sales are correct, it's said to break previous soundtrack records and outsell the biggest of all time Saturday Night Fever." {Source}
Is that a Roc-A-Fella chain Bee's rocking???!
And in related news Beyonce talks about her gay uncle. "Beyoncé is set to shock her more conservative fans after landing on the cover of leading US gay magazine Instinct.The singer and actress agreed to give an interview to the publication to promote her new movie musical, Dreamgirls.In the article, she reveals a gay uncle made her turn her back on stereotypes and embrace homosexuals.Knowles also makes it clear that her strict religious upbringing never made her turn against gay men and women, despite the church's opinion that homosexuals are abhorrent to God.She explains: "I was raised by my uncle who passed away with Aids a couple of years ago. He was my mother's best friend."He brought me to school every day. He helped me buy my prom dress. He made my clothes with my mother. He was like my nanny. He was my favourite person in the whole world."I never mixed Christianity with how I felt (about him). I am about faith and spirituality more so than religion, doing right by others and not judging."The singer insists she'd have no problems if a son of hers was to come to her with a gay confession: "(I'd say) I love him for the person he is with no expectations back." {Source}
She did the damn thing!
