Fashion Forward Wednesday::Red Lips is the new trend!
Welcome to December's first installment of Fashion Forward Wednesday. Every Wednesday I'll produce a trend, product or get a look for less from your favorite celebrities.
Stars like Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, and Janet are bringing back the classic red lips started up from movie legends of the past.
Angelina arrives at the United Nations Association annual gala dinner, New York City, October 2005. Beyonce was spotted rocking this look at Larry Johnson's b'day bash recently. Janet sported red lips on the cover of her current album, "20 Y.O." Jennifer Hudson of "Dreamgirls" displayed this hot trend in a photospread for "Entertainment Weekly." Christina Aguilera is rarely seen without her now signature red lips as she is on Back to Basics tour.
How to apply red lips...
Tip #1
Exofoliate your lips. Gently scrub your lips with a wet cloth.
Tip #2
Mosturize your lips constantly with lip balm before you apply the red lipstick.
Tip #3
Apply the red lipstick onto your lips and not onto your teeth. Apply a dab of vaseline onto your teeth. Yes this is an old wives tale but it's guarantee to work!
Here's how you get the trend for your skin complexion....
MAC, Cover Girl, Maybelline, and Revlon are all good cosmetics line that has a red lipstick that would work with your lips. Since red lips are obvious and noticeable especially if you have chappy lips before you apply them go to your local drugstore and do trial and error. Apply the SAMPLE and not the actual product you and I can buy onto the outer part of your wrist. If the shade screams Dolly Parton test drive another shade of red lipstick until you find the perfect shade for you.
Suitable red lipsticks:
MAC Lipstick get it [here]
Try CoverGirl outlast double lipshine [here]
Try Maybelline forever lipcolor in "Cherry" and "Wine" [here]
Try Revlon ColorStay Overtime Sheerâ„¢ Lipcolor in Sheer Pomegranate [here]
Well this trend is way better than Foxy Brown's wet and wild purple obsession, j/k, lol!
