*Jennifer Lopez may not be one of the best singers out there but she has stage prescene. I'm interested in how she'll convey that much to the finalists. Even the strong vocalists of the past knew how to move their audience---Do I need to remind you of Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin?!? [And no I'm not in NO way comparing J.Lo to these legends!]

Anyhow J.Lo appearing on the show is a good move! Her appearing on the show marks the first time an artist will sing entirely in Spanish on the show. AMERICAN IDOL is the #1 English-Language TV show for Hispanics.
According to several media outlets, Jennifer Lopez

"...has agreed to be executive producer of a five-hour musical drama on
Univision, the Spanish-language network in California."
"JENNIFER LOPEZ’s latest album, “Como Ama Una Mujer,” is heading straight for the bargain bin. The Latin diva’s record sold just 48,000 copies last week and came in at No. 10 on the Billboard charts. And there’s not much better news for J-Lo’s upcoming flick, “El Cantante.” The film has been getting poor advance reviews and was actually booed recently at the Berlin Film Festival."[source]
HOWEVER, PR Web begs to differ:
" Jennifer Lopez recently said that her first ever Spanish language album Como Ama Una Mujer was a longtime dream for her to accomplish. And today her beloved project storms the Billboard Latin chart nailing the #1 spot in its first week while also making a remarkable #10 debut on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. She also makes history with the highest sales of a Spanish album debut, inclusive of English and Latin artists. With this chart-topping debut, Jennifer joins an elite number of only five artists to ever land in the top ten with Spanish-language albums; they include Shakira, Maná, Don Omar and Selena. In addition, Como Ama Una Mujer sold more in one week digitally than any other Spanish-language release ever. Early chart numbers from overseas show amazing debuts in non-Spanish speaking countries like Switzerland (#1), Italy (#2) and Germany (#4)."

"I've always heard about the kind of love that you have between yourself and your children, and I didn't really understand it. I used to be really, really confused when my mom would be so upset about something that happened to me; it would seem as if it happened to her. Now I know what that love feels like, It was kind of hard to understand when she would explain it, but I feel it now. It's so different. Even if it's something as simple as him falling, or him getting hurt, I see exactly what she's talking about. "..He looks to me for everything that he needs,
even if it's his favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich that he expects very quickly every day. He looks to me for those things."
