ROBIN THICKE TALKS ABOUT "SOMETHING ELSE"
Anyone else excited to hear some new Robin Thicke music? The "Lost Without You" singer in a recent interview with Billboard said his upcoming album, "Something Else" would have its sound like "classic Philly, Motown and '70s black disco meets the creativity of the Beatles and Bob Dylan."
Thicke went to say that his musical direction wouldn't duplicated what's already on music stations:
"I felt like a lot of stuff out there sounded the same. Plus, there are a lot of
things going on in the world with the recession and the war. It made me feel
like everybody really just needed something new, something else," Thicke tells
Billboard.com. "It's time for a change and there is hope for everyone."
Artists like Estelle, Solange, Duffy, and even Amy Winehouse seems to be going for that organic Motown sound. Even the movies are going back to that time period. -coughs- Hairspray, Dreamgirls, etc. Robin's new single, "Magic" has its position currently at No. 32 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Labels: Music Hoopla, Robin Thicke
