Throwback Monday::Salt N Pepa
The year was 1987 and Salt N Pepa had us with their hot single, "Push It." The girls have since broke up only to reunite at the recent VH1 Hip Hop Honors. Click PLAY to enjoy Throwback Monday's pick----"Push It" by Salt N Pepa, hip-hop female poineer girl group. Salt N Pepa are Cheryl James and Sandy Denton ("Salt" and "Pepa", respectively), and Deidre "Dee Dee" Roper (DJ Spinderella).

I was only 4 when this song came out but I remember the dookie chains every fly chick on my block rocked. Salt N Pepa reminds an inspiration to many female R&B/hip-hop artists today. You can see their impact on acts like Danity Kane, Remy Ma, TLC, Dream, Destiny's Child, En Vogue, Xscape, and so on and on.
