Usher in VIBE's 150th issue
Usher Raymond IV was photographed exclusively by Butch Belair for 'Vibe' magazine for their September 1998 issue which you see pictured above. *click to enlarge.*
"The spotlight is a brutally bright place in which to grow up. Usher effortlessly transformed from boy to man before our eyes. In 1998 Usher told VIBE, "I could be wrong, but I don't think my life is like other 19-year-olds." Nearly a decade later, his life isn't like most 28-year-olds either: he has sold more than 20 million albums, appeared in several films, dated singers and supermodels, and starred in the Broadway musical Chicago."

Usher was also featured in the NEXT section of the collector's 150th VIBE issue:
"When gospel-choirboy-turned-R&B ladies' man USHER (born Usher Raymond IV) first caught our ear (Next, November 1994), he was a teenager still worried about his mom's opinion. "I know sometimes my mama says, 'What's my baby doing singing about making love to some woman?'" he said. But by May 2004, when Usher graced our cover solo for the second time (the first was for the June/July 1998 issue), he'd grown more comfortable with his mother's role. "She's found her life and light in being part of my career," he said. "When I'm onstage, that's her shining as well." Usher is in the studio, preparing to get his shine on once again this summer." {spotted at Usherforever}
