For all you Kelly Rowland fans out there, here's the official word from her record label on her upcoming sophmore record.
"Columbia Records has announced the release of Kelly Rowland's sophomore album, Ms. Kelly. The album has had 3 release dates since July 2006 when her manager Matthew Knowles put her project on the back burner so Beyonce's album could be rushed out to compete with ex-band member LeToya Luckett.
The first single from the album, "Like This," features rap artist Eve, and is currently being promoted on AOL Music`s New Songs page and on Rowland`s Myspace.com site. The second single "Ghetto," guest stars Snoop Dogg. Other tracks include the Tank-penned and produced "The Show."
[Kelly on her album:
"This album is very different from the last record. It was so alternative and this record is urban," she told Billboard.com. "I wanted to go back to my roots [because] that’s where I started and that’s what feels natural to me." Ms. Kelly is in stores June 26th."] [spotted at Sandra Rose]
Wait or not wait I think Kelly can hold her own if she promotes this album with all she's got. She proved she's the backbone of Destiny's Child now all she needs to do is provide us with her true R&B talent. Every major NYC radio stations is currently putting her single, "Like This" on heavy rotation.

kelly needs to get from out of bey's shadow and show the world that she is the better singer of DC. IMO she really has always been the better singer and she can do so much more if she gets away from the knowles'. i could see if she had no talent at all , but this girl has it and she keeps allowing herself to be pushed to the back .
Licia I 100% agree with ya. I think Kelly's thing is that the Knowles took her in at such a young age and all. Kelly was always the ringleader in Destiny's Child. She was the one getting the crowd all hype up during their live shows so I don't know why she's half-stepping on her own. She'll do alright. I remember when that Nelly/Kelly came out---I was like what this girl can siiiiiiiiiiiing!

i respect the knowles' and what they did for their daughter ( any parent would do the same) , but things are way different when you are in a group with other talented people . it's not fair to push the others to the back when they are just as deserving of superstardom. if beyonce had started as a solo artists i wouldn't have any issues with how they handled the situation. i know the knowles have done alot for her, but i believe she has repaid them enough .
i felt the smae way about the nelly/kelly joint. she did her thing.
Okay my comments posted up twice! I swear blogger is acting a fool once again. -smh-
Well Kelly is set finanically if that's what's holding her to them like that. She always said the knowles are like her family. funny how in the beginning beyonce and kelly were like they're cousins. then that rumor came out that mathew is her father.
regardless of the fact destiny's child has talented vocals---look at LeToya! LeToya did her thing! She open up a successful store in Houston, had a #1 album and got to tour with MJB.
kelly has a song with Snoop Dogg that I haven't heard yet but I'm sure that song would get her more buzz. Kelly just needs to do her own thing aside the whole modelling/acting gigs she had going on for awhile.
I'm just annoyed that her album has been pushed back so many times.
According to kellyrowlandweb.com, Kelly shot the music video to "Like This" this past Monday.
