BEFORE THEY WERE STARS: ANIKA NONI ROSE
Every once in awhile Urban-Hoopla would include a Before They Were Stars edition. First up is actress Anika Noni Rose.
Anika Noni Rose portrayed Kelly Clarkson's best friend in the 2003 "American Idol" spin-off flop, "From Justin to Kelly":
Today Anika Noni Rose is a Tony Award winning actress who is notable for her role in the 2006 Broadway play to film, "Dreamgirls." In 2004, Anika Noni won a Tony award as Tonya Pinkins' daughter in the Broadway production of "Caroline, or Change."
