EASTER HOOPLA
Adorable sisters Ming Lee and Aoki Simmons celebrated Easter a day early in their father Russell Simmons' Phat Farm Soho flagship.
These two are going to be one of the most talked girls in the media, I predict:
I just got word that Toni Braxton is in plans to launch her very own record label.
Here's the scoop from my source:
R&B Diva Toni Braxton is currently reviewing acknowledged
recording contract offers from four major labels. Unconfirmed reports
have suggested that Sony BMG, J Records and Virgin Records are within this
mix.
Toni Braxton as I reported earlier this year had a nasty management/record label dispute with Blackground Records [labelmate of Aaliyah and JoJo].
My source also let me know that Toni's husband is the reason behind her shaky relationship with Blackground Records and Barry Hankerson.
Hankerson has also gone on record to say this much about Toni Braxton's husband:
"It was a terrible experience for us. We had to work through her husband to get things done, and it was really tough for us. "She was with the best hitmakers in the world, but she infused another person in the mix. Look at the back of the albums. All of a sudden you start seeing this new name. You couldn't get to Toni or offer her a song."
Toni Braxton's spokesperson begs to differ:
"(Hankerson's) continuing to blame Toni's husband for everything except Hurricane Katrina is both untrue and unfounded."

On a side tip, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame published the Definitive 200-"a list of 200 ranked albums that every music lover should own", placing Toni Braxton's debut album at #145.
HAPPY EASTER, FOLKS!
Labels: Out and About, Russell Simmons, Toni Braxton
those little girls are the cutest.
i need some new toni braxton music. she needs to get to it .i just hope she doesn't have her husband doing any of the music. although i don't like how hankerson did her , i agree with what he said about her bringing her husband into the mix. she had some great producers and writers on her team already and she didn't need her husband. i love the libra album though.
