SOMETHING NEW: TAKE 2

If you assume the chemistry between Australian actor Simon Baker and African American actress Sanaa Lathan in January 2006 film "Something New"* played into some cinema fantasy, these couples are living proof.

*According to the U.S. Census Bureau, interracial marriages have more than doubled over the past decade.

-Simon Baker, Sanaa Lathan and Oprah on "The Oprah Winfrey Show"-

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry
Canadian model Gabriel on Cleveland, Ohio, native Halle: "She just gave me her support and love."
Halle met Gabriel during a Versace ad in L.A. in November 2005. They didn't come out publicly until February 2006.

Paula Patton and Robin Thicke
Amereican R&B singer Robin famously puts his African-American wife in his music. Paula is on the cover of Robin's first solo record, "A Beautiful World" which is a re-release of his 2002 debut, "Cherry Blue Skies" and she plays his love interest in his current music video, "Lost Without You." Robin and Paula were married in June 2005 in Santa Barbara, California.

Iman and David Bowie
Somali-American model Iman married British rock star David Bowie in 1992. David and Iman have a daugther, Alexandria Zahra Jones, together.

Heidi Klum and Seal
Nigerian-British R&B singer Seal famously came a father to German supermodel Heidi's first child and the married pair now has two kids together. Klum's husband, British musician Seal, is helping her raise the child. Even in the earlier stages of their relationship, Klum said Seal treated Leni as if she was his own child.

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker.
Mexican-American actress Eva notoriously shows her affection for her soon to be husband Tony via accessories. She often wears his number on her jeans or their intials as a necklace. Stay tune for their 7/7/07 wedding in Tony's native Paris, folks...

Vanessa and Kobe Bryant
African-American NBA star married a Huntington Beach, California native video vixen and they have a daugther together, Natalia. Kobe and Vaness have been together since Vanessa's teen years in high school. Vanessa was only 18 when she married Kobe.

Reena Hammer and Jonathan Rhys Meyers
In spite of their age differences and being arrested on suspicion of assaulting his teenage girlfriend and possession of cannabis, Irish actor Jonathan and Reena are still going strong. Reena and Jonathan started dating in 2004 and have been seeing each other for over a year now and live together in London.

Here are a handful of "Something New" couples that didn't last but are still notable:

Kerry Washington and David Moscow
Washington and her fiancé, actor David Moscow, had homes in Harlem and West Hollywood. They met one another in the Bronx (where Kerry's from) on acting gigs.

Rosario Dawson and Jason Lewis
Actress Rosario and Newport Beach, California actor Jason, who you all know him as Kim Cattral's boyfriend on "Sex & City" began dating in 2004 and had been living together in Hollywood since November 2005. Rosario is of Native American, Irish, Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban ancestry.

Kim Karadashian and Ray J
African-American R&B singer Ray J, Brandy's brother, and Armenian-American Kim have been in one another's social circles for quite awhile before they started the relationship that ignited the infamous sex tape.

Jennifer Lopez and Diddy
Back when Puerto Rican American singer, songwriter, dancer, and fashion designer J.Lo was from the Block, African American hip-hop producer and fashion designer Diddy was enamored by Jenny Lo. These two went on to become one of the most high profile couples in the hip-hop community. They also created red carpet magic together---hence the low cut Versace gown J.Lo wore to the Grammy's.

Janet Jackson and Rene Elizondo
America's pop princess married her manager and we all didn't know until Janet did press tour for her album, "All For You" in which Janet announced her divorce. Little did we know that WAS Rene's hands on that infamous Rolling Stone magazine cover.

Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons
Although they went their seperate ways this past Fall we have to at least thank two two for Baby Phat ADs where they showcase their children Aoki and Ming Lee. They are truly hip hop's first family. Kimora is of Japanese-Korean, African-American ancestry. Russell is successful African-Americanco-founder of Def Jam. Russell and Kimora got married on December 20, 1998.

Labels: Halle Berry, Heidi Klum, Kerry Washington, Kim Kardashian, Kimora Lee Simmons, Kobe Bryant, New Couple, Paula Patton, Robin Thicke, Rosario Dawson

A few IR couples are about two people getting together and hitting it off. The other 90% invovles a Black person that hates looking and being Black and hopefully the kids wont look so black (They'd probably commit suicide).

I got a happily married IR couple that doesn't fit what you just said, anonymous. The wife is black and she was going to be married a African-American guy but she didn't like how assertive he was towards her. She instead married YT male best friend. Where does she fit into your data? ^

That's a really cool photo of Janet Jackson on the cover of The Rolling Stone.

That cover was from Janet. days...

Janet is curently using the image for the logo of one of her entertainment companies.
