ROBIN THICKE CELEBRATES "SOMETHING ELSE" + T.I & JAY-Z'S "SWAGGA" AT HIGHLINE
Robin Thicke held his "Something Else" album release party in New York City last night. Right by his side was his wife Paula Patton and also there were Jay-Z, Diddy, and Jadakiss. You can listen to Robin's new album, "Something Else" on his myspace page: MYSPACE.COM/ROBINTHICKE.

T.I performed "Swagga Like Us" last night at New York's Highline Ballroom. Jay-Z joined him on stage and the crowd feed into the hype. "Paper Trail" was released yesterday. Check it out.
ROBIN THICKE'S PEPSI SMASH SET + HIM & PAULA AT FASHION WEEK
Robin Thicke did a solid performance set for Yahoo's Pepsi Smash online concert series. He knocked out a great rendition of his lead single, "Magic" and he also did his breakthrough hit, "Lost Without You." He gave this time around more sass than his "106 & Park" video. The anticipation for his album, "Something Else" got me going on YouTube listening to his older work. I cannot wait until the album drops on September 30th - the day after my b'day.
"Magic"
"Lost Without You"
In related news, Robin was seen with his wife Paula Patton at a Prada exhibit and W magazine party during NY Fashion Week.
Calvin Klein's 40th Anniversary bash was jam packed with familar faces like Estelle, Paula Patton, Kimora Lee, Djimon Hounsou, and Joy Bryant. Before Kanye hit the VMA stage, Estelle defended his ego in a recent interview with E Online. "People say what they say about his ego, but he's very sure of himself and I think that's a great way to be," she told E! News at Belvedere's dinner party at Dakota, which was held in her honor. "I think more people should follow him, and be more cocky and more proud of their work."
Who knew Fefe Dobson and Christina Milan were close friends? The twosome attended the "House of Hype" pre-VMA party. Anyone else like Fefe's new girly look? She definitely switch it up from her "Everthing" days...
Usher proved he still got that sex appeal that somehow took a backseat during his "Here I Stand" promo blitz when he knock a medley of his old and new hits at NFL Kick off event. Check out the fanmade videos...
"What's Your Name"
"Love In This Club"
Jordin Sparks attended "In Touch Weekly" post-VMA's party in this leopard print Dolce & Gabbana and YSL starry sandals. Paris Hilton had on the same corset satin D&G number at last night's VMA's. Which look is on lock?
Thandie Newton and Sophie Okonedo made a fashion splash at the 2008 TIFF. Both UK-based artists were at the event to promote "RocknRolla" and "The Secret Life of Bees" respectively.
Paula Patton stripped down to a few Flashdance-inspired clothes for the August 2008 edition of "Esquire" magazine. (Many thanks to the Superior Pics boards for the photos!) Paula talked briefly with Esquire reporter Ryan D'Agostino about her three upcoming films and her L.A County Coroner office experience.
The better half of Robin Thicke has a new film coming out with Kevin Costner called, "Swing Vote". I caught the trailer on the other day to find out that Paula has a role in the film as a journalist. I thought the film's premise was rather funny.
Black Voices Blog's It's All Reel has the hoopla on Paula's latest film project...
'Swing Vote' follows the story of Bud Johnson (Kevin Costner), an apathetic, beer-slinging, lovable loser, who is coasting through a life that has passed him by. The one bright spot is his precocious, over-achieving twelve-year-old daughter Molly. She takes care of both of them, until one mischievous moment on Election Day, when she accidentally sets off a chain of events which culminates in the election coming down to one vote... her dad's. 'Swing Vote' is a comical look at the journey of one father and daughter who discover that everyone has the power to change the world.[BBV]

The film doesn't come out until August 1. Anyone else going to see this film??

TV ONE DECLARES HALLE AS SEXIEST BLACK WOMAN ALIVE
TV One Access named Halle Berry as their number one pick for their list, "Countdown: The 16 Sexiest Black Women Alive." The on-air hour-long program was hosted by Jamal Munnerlyn and Tatyana Ali. Also on the list were Tyra Banks, Alicia Keys, Paula Patton and Michelle Obama.
"The women selected as our 16 sexiest black women aren't just pretty faces. Each one of them is uniquely talented, strong-minded and self-assured," says Monique Chenault, Senior Producer, "TV One Access." "Now what could be sexier than that?"
Michelle's husband Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama can be seen on the collector's edition of "Ebony" magazine. Barack alongside Jay-Z, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Muhammad Ali, Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington, and Bill Dee Williams were named by the urban publication as the 25 coolest Black men of all time. For a minute there I thought Barack was on the cover of "GQ" magazine - not "Ebony." (Thanks Fresh & Fab!)
Friendly duo Chris Brown and Rihanna were spotted holding hands as they made their way through LAX. The twosome made their relationship public when they were caught sitting together at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.
Usher hit up another Summer Concert Series event but this time it was for "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" where he performed his hit, "Love In This Club". Usher recently made a comment about his ex, Chilli in a new interview with UK-based urban publication RWD magazine...
RWD: Chilli was quoted as saying you were the one she ‘truly did love. I’m not in love with him anymore, but I can’t say I don’t love him.’ Do you think it’s appropriate for her to make these comments considering you’re married with a child?
Usher: I mean, I think it’s a little unrealistic, I’m married (laughs), I’m not a boy. It’s been three years past, you know? But we all have unrealistic goals too. Like shoot, I will always forever love Katie Holmes and Halle Berry. I don’t feel anyway about it. It does appear maybe to be a plug for something. She got a record coming or something?
Can Usher and Chilli simply avoid talking about one another just for the sake of promoting their various projects?!? Just let it ride...
M.I.A and Amerie both went fashion-forward and funky at the Target/Converse-hosted MTV Movie Award after party. Amerie just confirmed that she has began working on a follow-up to her last record, "Because I Love It". M.I.A just announced her engagement and the guy's not Kanye West.
Zoe Kravitz, who "Essence" magazine named a style icon back in March, attended photographer Ricky Powell's "Illy Funksters" exhibition opening in New York City. (I'm digging that Gucci tote she has on.)
Pharrell Williams and his oversized purple Hermes Birkin bag are on the cover of "Paper" magazine.
