FANTASIA'S A BROADWAY STAR
Congrats is in order to "American Idol" winner Fantasia. Why the note of congrats? Fantasia attended the award ceremony for the Theatre World Awards where she picked up her award for Outstanding Debut Performance for "The Color Purple." She was presented her award by Broadway legend Barbara Cook.
Fantasia, real talk, is everything the cookie-cutter glare from being on "American Idol" is all about. Despites her being a single mother and not knowing how to read (a rumor she has dismissed), Fantasia has allowed her talent and her voice to help her get that paper.

Fantasia had joined the laundry list of R&B singers who performed well on Broadway. Before Fantasia's shine on "The Color Purple", R&B songtresses Toni Braxton, Deborah Cox, Michelle Williams, Usher, and many others lit up the stages in front of a keeping it real audience. If your acting is not on point, the New York crowd will let you know the deal, folks. So a note of good look goes out to Ciara, Kelly Rowland, and Beyonce who all joining the Broadway stage shortly.
