Essence has proved that they are a day late and a dollar short on keeping up with news from Kelly Rowland. KELLY Rowland once wanted to look white...just as she admitted to Wendy Williams, last month. “It’s said that brown-skinned girls don’t sell magazines and that’s so sad,” the sexy songbird tells next month’s Essence. “I remember wishing I was more fair-skinned, but Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mom, would say, ‘Don’t you know how beautiful you are?’ She made me come into my brown beauty. I didn’t get it, but now I do. I am chocolate and beautiful and loving it.” [source] So is Kelly trying to suggest Diana Ross, Patti LaBelle, Whitney Houston, and many
other brown skin girls can't sell records?!? Things that make me go hmmm...
Anyhow, click HERE to listen to the remix to Kelly's upcoming single, "Work."

Say word, anonymous! Whitney did it ligther as soon as her music hit mainstream as did Diana. Looking at the Supremes back then and Diana now--she used up that Ambia. I do think that with a little bit money Patti, Whitney and Diana decided to enchance their complexion.
I just hope Kelly doesn't get light. She's giving me some hope. I'm a brown skin girl too and all my cousins and sisters are Beyonce's complexion. No one wants to think my sisters and I are related based on our complexion. I'm NOT bleaching for no ONE so I hope Kelly doesn't. I heard she tried to go blonde but it came out bad.
As for the person that told Kelly brown is not marketable---things that make me go hmm...lol!
Thanks for supporting my blog, anonymous.
She didn't say anything about brown skin women not being able to sell records. She was talking about how the industry says that if you put a brown skin girl on the cover of a magzine the magazine does not sell.
