KANYE & 50 CENT'S ALBUM SALES THUS FAR
If you're keeping track, the first day sales of "Curtis" and "Graduation" have pulled in.
Kanye West's "Graduation" has sold nearly 400,000 copies while 50 Cent's "Curtis" reeled in 310,000 copies. 50 Cent claims his numbers are due to widespread bootlegging of his CD. Kanye countered with, "So was mine. Stop making excuses, bitch" [via Sandra Rose]
Exclusively to CNN, 50 Cent claims he probably wouldn't do another album. This battle has certainly taken us back to the fun days of hip-hop, hasn't it?
Check out this new bonus track off "Curtis" called "Smile (I'm Leavin')":
In an interview with ALLHIPHOP, 50 claims he'll drop an album each time Def Jam's top priority does:
“To be honest the process of selling this record hasn’t been fun. I’m happy with the performance, but I’m not happy with the set up. We had conference calls and after we created this plan, nobody actually had a plan.”
50 Cent also issued a warning to Def Jam, claiming he would release a new album every time the label had a big release. “Hypothetically, if I came in under Kanye West, I would release a new album every time Def Jam had a priority. I would release a record verses every one of their top priorities”.
After reading this quote from 50 Cent, things that make me go hmmmm... [urban-hoopla]
