EDWING D'ANGELO AWAKENING FALL 2008 COLLECTION
Edwing D'Angelo held his Fall 2008 collection with the exquiste theme, "Awakening" at the Westside Loft in New York City this past Friday.
At the event, I became instant blogger friends with Elle of "In A Word...Fab".
For "Awakening", D'Angelo looked to the 20th century for inspiration as evident in his elaborate pieces enriched in tweed, taratan, crocodile and lizard.
I snapped pictures of the models backstage getting their make up done. D'Angelo's models wore footgear from Michael Antonio and jewlery from Satallite Paris.
Presented at the event were Amanda Lepore decked in a white fur shrug and Christian Louboutins, Egypt of Power 105.1 FM, Miss Delaware USA, and actress Sherri Saum.
D'Angelo's Fall 2008 collection consisted of Edwardian styles that had ruffles, decor, fitted silhouettes, and fludity.
Gift bags (as pictured in the slide show) given to guests included goodies from FIJI Waters, Borghese, Time Out New York, Budweiser Select, Parle, and a order form.
After the show, Edwing explained me how he being the fifth generation of tailors in his family influenced him to become a fashion designer.
