ESSENCE CELEBRATES BLACK WOMEN IN HOLLYWOOD
"Essence" magazine honored Black Women in Hollywood with a first annual luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Guests at the star-studded event included Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Gabrielle Union, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Vivica A Fox, Kerry Washington, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Lisa Raye, Holly Robinson Peete, Paula Patton, and Tracey Edmonds.
Jada was awarded in the Film category for her contributions which according to "Essence" magazine "...helped to change and inspire positive images of black women in television and film". [source]
"The Human Contact" will the be the first time Jada juggled writing and directing. The film's also under Jada's production company, 100 % Woman.
