JANET JACKSON'S DISCIPLINE LISTENING SESSION
Janet Jackson's new label home Island Def Jam and its chairman L.A Reid picked New World Stages in Manhattan as the venue to showcase the official album listening session for her upcoming music project, "Discipline".
At the RSVP-only event were Janet's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, comedian Mike Epps of "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins", Alesha Renee of BET, Angie Martinez of Hot 97, Johnny Wright, and many music industry insiders.
Black-and-white portraits of Janet Jackson lit up the venue. Guests were given a black and white book containing lyrics from Janet's "Discipline" record.
A plethora of hostesses walked around passing this lyric book in a skin-tight dominatrix cat suits and sky-high heels.
Then all attendees were asked to sit down in the theatre to listen to “Discipline”. Before the listening session began, a video montage, which you can check out below, highlighted the many success stories in Janet's career thus far.
In my opinion, the standout tracks from Janet's "Discipline" were the Stargate-produced "2Nite", The Dream-penned "Greatest X", and Ne-Yo's "Can't B Good".
I personally enjoyed the Rodney Jerkins-produced up-tempo, "Luv". To me, "Luv" starts off right where "Feedback" ended at.
Overall, "Discipline" sounds like a perfect blend on what she deliver on her previous songs, "Escapade", "Come Back To Me", "All For You", and the list goes on.
Personally this album has what "Damita Jo" and "All For You" had - up-tempo R&B/pop cuts. If you're looking for ballads, Janet really put her vocals down on the Johnta Austin/JD track, "Never Letchu Go". (L.A Reid seems to love this song a whole lot.)
Shortly after Janet's "Discipline" record played for the attendees, Janet came out with L.A Reid and Blender magazine music editor to thank everyone for coming out to support her.
Decked out in a black corset, a sheer blouse and black second-skin denim, Janet smiled and blushed before the cheering crowd as she proclaimed she loves sex. [UPDATE: Toya's World has the youtube clip of Janet saying "I Love Sex".]
The "Blender" magazine asked Janet why her songs involved sex and her aforementioned response got the crowd cheering and applauding.
"Discipline" is expected to hit stores on February 26th. Thanks Amina Elshahawi for the invite!

I saw the clip of the evening from Toya's and JJ said what we all know to be true about loving "love and sex" cuz when you listen to the old stuff and she's all moaning and groaning...I think she was taping herself doing the nasty in some sex party to get those sounds. She's the new "Marvin Gay" for the bedroom.
Wow! So you Chi-Chi were there to see Janet in the flesh? I can't believe it. I thought you were small time. That's really something. Did you touch her? What did you wear? How did you wear your hair?
