Usher can be seen on the August 2008 edition of "Essence" magazine with his 8 month-old son, Usher Raymond V. (Thanks U My Sista, Girl & Brown Sista!) This cover shot had become the talk of the urban blogosphere for some time now. Oddly so the cover made its appearance online shortly after talks of Usher wanting to rehire his momanger Jonetta Patton surfaced.

Since Usher became a father back in November, his son has been seen in the public eye on two separate occasions. Usher has said he didn't want to pimp his son for the sake of publicity as his celebrity counterparts are doing.

The R&B singer went as far as placing his son's birthdate (11-26) on the license plate of the car featured in his "Here I Stand" album cover. Anyhow check out a few quotes from the "Essence" magazine interview....

On Fatherhood:
“He’s gonna admire me, he’s gonna look up to me. He’s gonna say, ‘I wanna be’ or he should say - ‘I wanna be like my father.”

On His Marriage:
“They think that it was forced. I’ve heard a lot of comments like, “Oh, she trapped him.” “He got a baby by her, and then she’s married and she’s set for life.” “No. She wasn’t pregnant when I asked her to marry me. There’s some sort of huge conspiracy over this, the fact that I made these choices in my life. No I grew older. As a man, I have to take responsibility and take a hold of my life. I’m accountable for what happens to my life now.”
