BEYONCE COVERS "IN STYLE" + GRABS EARTHA KITT FILM ROLE
Dressed in Gucci, Beyonce appeared on the November 2008 cover edition of "In Style" magazine. The fashion publication has since added a behind the scenes video taken during the photo shoot which you can see here.
For the interview, Beyonce talked about how she got ready for her Etta James portrayal in the upcoming film, "Cadillac Records" as well as her personal style picks. Check out a few quotes from the interview.
On Style Icons: “Charlize Theron is always beautiful and feminine. I love her couture looks and dramatic silhouette. Halle Berry is elegant and sophisticated. I love that in the seventies Cher and Diana Ross looked like superstars and never played it safe. When they were onstage, they gave you drama and I love drama.”
On her latest look: “I was going to do the shorter hair (for her new album) that I had when I performed with Tina Turner at the Grammys earlier this year, which I loved. But I’ve decided to wear my hair straight instead. I’ve had so many different hairstyles, and I don’t want this project to be about my hair. With my makeup, I was doing a lot of liquid liner before. Now I’m into a gold smoky eye and natural-tone lip.”
On her fashion designer faves: “Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier are two designers I love right now. Their clothes are feminine, sexy and modern. I just went to the Giuseppe Zanotti showroom, and he had the most spectacular shoes. It was like being in a candy store. I was obsessed with every shoe! Right now, I love anything with a high platform.”
In related news, Beyonce just picked up another film role but this time as the legendary actress Earta Kitt -the infamous first black Catwoman. There's already a petition against Beyonce landing this biopic role. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Janet Jackson suppose to portray Eartha??? Anyhow check out a few movie stills from "Cadillac Records" which co-stars Adrien Brody, Gabrielle Union, Jeffrey Wright, and Mos Def. The 1950s musical film opens on December 5th.

At 3:11 AM,
Brandy Maddox looks alot like Eartha Kitt. She sings under the name of Gypsy Purl. I googled her and was able to find some of her work. It sure would be nice to see a fresh new talent like her play Eartha. Beyounce shouldnt be allowed to play every Black female songtress. Her acting is not up to par.
I'm really not sure about Beyonce as Eartha Kitt. I don't know which actress out there I would wanna play her.
