"The hardest working man in show business rests in peace today - on the
most famous stage in show business. The legendary Godfather of Soul, James
Brown, has arrived in a horse-drawn carriage at the famed Apollo Theater, for a
public viewing from 1-8 p.m. that has drawn thousands of fans who have come to
pay their last respects.

Today's public viewing at the Apollo will be followed by a
private ceremony Friday in Brown's hometown, Augusta, Ga., and another public
ceremony on Saturday, officiated by Rev. Sharpton, at Augusta's James Brown
Arena."

"Brown had more than 119 singles on the charts and recorded over 50 albums. He
was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received a lifetime Grammy
achievement award.

His big hits included "Please, Please, Please,"
"Papa's Got a Brand New Bag," "I Got You (I Feel Good)" "Get Up (I Feel Like
