Throwback video from SWV: "Rain"
SWV were the girl group of the New Jack Swing era in the '90s. SWV are Coko, Taj and LeeLee. Sisters With Voices is what SWV stood for and that's exactly how you and I can describe their influential sound. SWV were in a league of their own when they dropped their debut record, "It's About Time" in 1992. They had stiff competition back then from Salt 'N Pepa and TLC but SWV held their ground. SWV surely made the way for R&B female groups like Blaque, 702, Destiny's Child, 3LW, and countless others. These sexy ladies won three Billboard Awards in 1993 for their soulful sounds. According to their Myspace page SWV is gearing up to tour with New Edition in 2007. Coko today has gone gospel and wouldn't perform some of SWV's racy songs in accordance to her new spiritual. Out of the three Coko had a solid solo career. You can catch her vocals on Will Smith's grammy-award winning song, "Men in Black." Taj is married to football baller Eddie George of the Dallas Cowboys and Tennesse Titans. This special video throwbback of SWV goes out to all their fans out there! Enjoy this video throwback of the very best of SWV!
1998's "Rain" (this is my personal favorite SWV song! Catch Tyrese with his sexy self in the video!)
Chingy completely ripped off the beat of SWV's Rain. Funny huh Tyrese was in the "Rain" video. I guess that's his way of paying some type of respect to SWV?
