Box Office Thursday: 3 New Films
Welcome to the first installment of February's Box Office Thursday.
There are only three new films opening this weekend--'Because I Said So', 'The Messengers' and 'Factory Girl.'
"Because I Said So" stars Mandy Moore, Diane Keaton, Piper Peabo and Stephen Collins.
If enjoyed 'Something's Gotta Give', you'll enjoy 'Because I Said So.'
Summary: 'Because I Said So' is about a mother (Diane Keaton) looking for a appropriate suitor for her youngest daugher (Mandy Moore) but along the way mother finds a potential Mr. Right for herself. Now what would her three daughters (Moore, Lauren Graham and Piper Peabo) think about this?

Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly) and Mandy Moore (A Walk to Remember.)
Diane Keaton (Something's Gotta Give) and Stephen Collins (7th Heaven.)

'Because I Said So' movie trailer :
'The Messenger' stars Dylan McDermott.
If you enjoyed 'The Sixth Sense', you enjoy this film.

'Factory Girl' stars Jimmy Fallon and Sienna Miller. This film opens up in limited release.
If you're a fan of socalite's lifestyle and the great late Andy Warhol, you'll enjoy 'Factory Girl.'
Summary: The lifestyle of Andy Warhol's muse, Edie Sedgwick on film.

Illeana Douglas, Jimmy Fallon (Taxi) and Sienna Miller (Alfie)
Sienna Miller and Guy Pearce.
'Factory Girl' movie trailer:
What to see: 'Factory Girl' is something new. Yeah it's a biopic but this time the film focus on the popular muse of Andy Warhol. 'Because I Said So' is too much like 'Something's Gotta Give" meets "'My Father/MyHero." 'The Messenger' is too much like 'Enough' meets 'The Sixth Sense.'
Top Box Office with a little bit of commentary:
1. Epic Movie (A spoof comedy is #1)
2. Smokin Aces (The ensemble power of Alicia Keys, Common, Jeremy Piven helped made this movie sell to audience.)
3. Night at the Musem (I'm quite sure the cash registers at NYC musems are going KA-CHI!)
4. Stomp the Yard (Yet another ensemble film. This film dropped to the #4 spot after being #1 for two weeks in a row.)
5. Catch and Release (The new Jennifer Gardner romantic comedy.)
6. Dreamgirls (Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy's Golden Globes, SAG and Oscar buzz is keeping this film in the top 10.)
7. The Pursuit of Happyness (This biopic got Will Smith another Oscar nomination.)
8. Pan's Labyrinth
9. The Queen (I'm sure Helen's recent award wins is pushing this film up the top box office.)
10. The Hitcher (Sophie Bush's #1 film plummets to #10. OUCH!)
If you enjoyed 'The Sixth Sense', you enjoy this film.
