Box Office Thursday: Eddie Murphy's "Norbit" and Gong Li's "Hannibal Rising"
Four movies are opening this weekend which are "Hannibal Rising", "Norbit", "The Last Sin Eater" and "The Lives of Others." The last two are opening in limited release and for more information on "The Last Sin Eater" and "The Lives of Others.", click [here].
Golden Globe winning/Oscar-nominated Eddie Murphy is the star in "Norbit." I posted up additional information on this film at [Feels Good 2 B Home].

"Norbit" stars Eddie Murphy, Thandie Newton, and Cuba Gooding Jr. See this film if you enjoyed "The Nutty Professor" and "The Adventures of Pluto Nash."
Summary: Norbit has never had it easy. As a baby, he was abandoned on the steps of a Chinese restaurant/orphanage and raised by Mr. Wong. Things get worse when he's forced into marriage by the mean, junk food-chugging queen, Rasputia. Just when Norbit's hanging by his last thread, his childhood sweetheart, Kate, moves back to town. "Hannibal Rising" stars Gong Li. See this film if you enjoyed the first "Hannibal" film as well as "Silence of the Lamb.'
Summary: In Eastern Europe at the end of World War II, a young Hannibal watches as his parents violently die, leaving his young sister in his care. Alone and without any means of support, he is forced to live in a Soviet orphanage. He flees to Paris to find his uncle has died but his Japanese widow, Lady Murasaki (Gong Li) welcomes him. Rundown of the top box office:
1. The Messengers (WOW! A scary movie is #1! Congrats to Dylan McDermott who's in this film.)
2. Because I Said So (Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore's positive image pushes this film into the #2 position.)
3. Epic Movie (Funny spoof movie echoes that age old tale, Knock it until we all get annoyed and tired of it.)
4. Night at the Museum (Set in one of NYC popular museum, Ben Stiller's got that box office charm yet again.)
5. Smokin' Aces (Ensemble cast that has everyone from Common (the rapper) to Jeremy Piven (the actor). Great idea isn't it?)

7. Dreamgirls (Beyonce's in this film as is Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson!)
8. Pan's Labyrinth
9. The Pursuit of Happyness (Will's biopic. Is it me or does he seem to make one movie a year?!?)
