Throwback video by New Edition: "If It Isn't Love."
New Edition are Ralph Tresvant, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Bobby Brown,
Ronnie DeVoe, and Johnny Gill.
New Edition's signature song "If It Isn't Love" debut in 1988 and peaked at #7 on the US Hot 100 charts off their album, "Heart Break." I was barely five but I remember when I first heard this song on the radio. I know I used to dance with my hairbrush thinking I was Ralph in my mirror, lol!
These men inspired the many countless boy bands afterwards like *NSYNC, New Kids on the Block, Jodeci, Backstreet Boys, Blackstreet, Jagged Edge, Boyz II Men and they also inspired the new generation of R&B singers like Glenn Lewis, Usher, Donnell Jones, Carl Thomas, Robin Thicke, John Legend, and so on. I can go on and on about who was inspired by New Edition but ya'll get my point. If you enjoy this throwback video head on over to my daily video throwback blog [here] New Edition launched the career of the one-name sensation Ralph, Bobby and Johnny as well as the spin-off group Bell Biv DeVoe that featured Bell Bivins and Ronnie Devoe. According to New Edition's Wikipedia page, the group is planning a tour for 2007. "The group plans a thirty two city tour in 2007 with Keith Sweat and SWV as their opening acts. Later in the year, the group plans to head into the studio to record their next album featuring all six members. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis will be handling 90% of the production while R. Kelly, Ne-Yo,Sean Garrett and The Underdogs have all expressed interest in working with the group to show the world who the true kings of modern R&B are. I love this men's swagger! It cannot be replaced!
