RIHANNA'S CALI PROMO BLITZ
The first round of Rihanna's in store appearances was earlier today at Cali's Hard Rock Cafe:
Rocking her Cover Girl make up with a bright yellow top, Rihanna signed copies of her latest record to hit stores for her fans. Good thing, Rihanna bought along her best friend, Monica. Those in-store signing can be tiresome, eh eh eh.

Just when you and I got used to Rihanna's jacked Aeon Flux hair do, she switches it up to a chin-length bob. One thing I do know is that Rihanna's publicity team is pushing hard for her current album, "Good Girl Gone Bad" to succeed. And so far it has and in a big way. "Good Girl Gone Bad" has the number one digital song in the UK, "Umbrella."
Speaking of which, Rihanna has admitted to the British press that "Umbrella" was orignially written and produced for Mary J. Blige. And here's Rihanna on the situation:
"Any songwriter would die for Mary to sing one of their songs. So I just prayed that I got it. It was perfect for me - it had a West Indian groove. When I saw one of the songwriters at the Grammy Awards, I went up to him and said, 'Listen, 'Umbrella' is my song.' He must have thought I was really pushy and laughed it off. But I held his face and I turned it back to my own, 'No, I'm serious, I need 'Umbrella'. Two days later we found out the song was mine."[source]
Not for nothing, Rihanna did a good job capturing the hit. For my R&B fans out there, you may or may not remember MJB had "Rainy Days", a song similar to the theme behind "Umbrella" with Ja Rule. So why would MJB want to duplicate "Rainy Days" again on her new upcoming project? EXACTLY! If you folks remember "Rainy Days" was written as a follow-up to TLC's "Waterfalls."
Going to back to who Jay-Z has called, "Little Miss Sunshine", the Bajan beauty performed last night on "Jay Leno" minus her ever present Umbrella. Click here to watch.
And here's a fresh round of new Rihanna promo pictures:

This song wouldn't have been a hit for Mary...
