JAY-Z LEAVES DEF JAM
Jay-Z at the Pearl on December 29th
The big news within the hip-hop community is Jay-Z's departure as Def Jam president. Jay-Z was quoted as saying: "Now it's time for me to take on new challenge. I am pleased to have had the opportunity to build upon the Def Jam legacy."
Thanks to Real Talk NY, here is a recap of the good accomplishments Jay-Z made as well as the heavily criticized lack of promotions give to Def Jam artists.
And in related news, Jay-Z is scheduled to host a star-studded New Year's Eve celebration at Palms Hotel in Las Vegas with a midnight fireworks display.
UPDATE: Concrete Loop has the pictures from Jay-Z's concert where Kanye West, Mary J Blige and many others join him on stage.

Jay certainly turned out successful albums for many artists while heading Def Jam. I think it's "sour grapes" in regards to LL Cool's comments. LL's 15 mins. are just over!
Jay is going to get comments like this when he gloats so much about how much he gets paid!!!
