BOX OFFICE HOOPLA: ALICIA KEYS & CHRIS BROWN
Black Voices Blog recently revealed a sneak preview photo taken from "The Secret Life of Bees" which has Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Dakota Fanning, and Sophie Okonedo in its line up. Based off the 2002 best selling Sue Monk Kidd novel, Gina Prince Bythewood served as the film's director. Bythewood also directed the Sanaa Lathan-Omar Epps film, "Love & Basketball."
The film has its world premiere during the 2008 Toronto Film Festival which runs from September 4 through September 13. In case you missed the trailer in this previous post, check it out again below:
In related news, Alicia has been asked reportedly to see the latest Bond theme song. If the rumors are true, Alicia beaten out Beyonce Knowles, Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis, Duran Duran, Duffy, and Jack White as previous 007 theme song contenders. The new James Bond film is called, "Quantum of Solace."
Chris Brown has a new film project still in early negotiations. If talks pull through, Chris would appear in "Bone Deep" alongside Matt Dillon, Idris Elba and T.I. If all goes to plan, Chris would also serve as the film's executive producer. So it's safe to say that Chris definitely takes his acting career very seriously. "Bone Deep" is about a group of criminals who plan a major heist with two detectives hot on their trail. Brown will play one of the crooks.
