"House of Payne" actor Lance Gross and "Y&R" actress/ANTM winner Eva Marcille made their first joint appearance post-engagement announcement (Try saying that three times fast!) at the launch party for Xbox360 & Playstation 3's "Afro Samurai" at the Geisha House last night.


Is it just me or is Eva being extra sly about her engagement ring from her baby???

Longtime photogenic couple Lance Gross, 27, and Eva Marcille, 24, announced their engagement on Christmas Eve via a interview with Essence magazine. Lance, actor from "Meet The Browns" & "House of Payne", popped the question to his girlfriend Eva (of "Young & Restless"/"ANTM" fame) in front of family and friends. Lance recently told Clutch magazine that Eva's his baby who in turn supports his dreams.

Actor Lance Gross got on bended knee and proposed to girlfriend and costar Eva Marcille in front of their families on Christmas Eve to propose.

“I knew the day I laid eyes on her because I just got that feeling,” says Gross who said he fell in love with Marcille instantly. “She took full control of my heart and is the only woman that has ever made me feel that way—that’s how I knew she was special.”

Surrounded by family and friends, Gross got on bended knee and presented Marcille with a 3.36 1895 Pave Cartier ring.

“I cried. It was totally unexpected. I’m still in shock,” says Marcille. “I could not even sleep because I was afraid that I might wake up from the most beautiful dream ever.”

The two haven’t set a wedding date but are strongly considering a summer wedding in 2010.

“To put it simply, he makes me a better me,” says Marcille.” I am now complete.” [quote: Essence]

Lance Gross spoke about his girlfriend Eva Marcielle and his acting career to Clutch magazine. (Did you know that Lance appeared in videos for Mariah Carey and Rihanna before he got his big break in Tyler Perry's "House of Payne" and "Meet The Browns"?!)

Clutch: You and Eva Marcille are a well-known item, how long has it been now?
Lance: We’ve been together a little over a year and a half. We’re pretty serious; we live together. She’s great.

She’s supporting me in my dreams and I support her in hers. We really mesh. We’re like in our own little bubble, in La La Land. Yeah, that’s my baby.

Clutch: That’s so sweet. You guys make a beautiful couple. So tell us, from your experience, what are the best and worst aspects of being a celeb?
Lance: It’s a dream come true for me. Just to have a fan base, it’s amazing to me. I love being a celebrity. Sometimes I have to pinch myself. The worst thing is that you give up some of your privacy being a celebrity. I mean you can be at a restaurant, and people know who you are. But in the end I still appreciate it so I guess it’s not really a bad thing for me because I’m thankful for everything. [Read more over at CLUTCH]

According to Black Voices, the show will follow Angela and Vanessa as they juggle their Pastry collection with their acting careers and personal life. Angela signed on to appear in the new Chris Stokes/Marques Houston film ("Boogie Town") and Vanessa has projects with soap opera "The Guilding Light" and Ford agency. Will you tune in?

Tyler Perry held a huge celebration for the historic opening of his independent Film & TV studio in Atlanta, Georgia. Tyler made history because his studio is the first ever African-American owned. In attendance were Sidney Poitier, Cicely Tyson, Star Jones, Oprah Winfrey, Stedman Graham, Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe, Lynn Whitfield, Eva Pigford, Lance Gross, John Legend, Tracey Edmonds, Holly Robinson Peete, Tasha Smith, Star Jones and Patti LaBelle. Clearly the dress code was black while the man of the moment rock a white suit.



According to Tyler, there are five sound stages after named Quincy Jones, Sidney Poitier, Ruby Dee, and Cicely Tyson. The fifth sound stage has yet to be named.

Derek Blanks posted up these new photos of actor Lance Gross onto his myspace page. New photos of the upcoming actor of "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" TBS sitcom fame surfaced online last week. Eva Pigford Marcille (as in Lance's girl) - hats off to you!

The Pussycat Dolls offered a brief glimpse via PopEater of their music video, "Whatcha Think About That" featuring Missy Elliott. (Didn't Danity Kane feature Missy on their second single but that's just my opinion. Regardless of that small tidbit, I personally enjoy PCD's first disc especially their duet with Avant.)
