The first annual BET Honors event bought out honorees Tyra Banks, Maxine Waters, Dr. Cornel West, Janice Bryant Howroyd, Richard Parsons and Alicia Keys as well as Jill Scott, Keyshia Cole, Kerry Washington, Vivica A Fox, Idris Elba, Hill Harper, Chingy, Brian McKnight, Ne-Yo, Stevie Wonder, Wycelf Jean, and BET President Debra Hill.
Keys accepted her award in a red Naeem Khan dress: "For me, I'm just a girl still from Harlem, and here I am. It's a tremendous feeling to do what you love and for people to love what you do. … People are honoring me for doing what my heart tells me to do, (and that is) so fulfilling."
According to AP News, BET Honors recognizes achievements of distinguished African American leaders.
The event is set to air February 22nd at 8 p.m. on BET.

Keyshia Cole looked stunning! Alicia's dress is beautiful but her hair looked a bit top heavy. Tyra's dress front looked like she had an altercation with a parrot and the bird lost. Viv looked gorgeous. Can't wait to see the show.
