Letoya Luckett paid tribute to Patti LaBelle via a soulful rendition of "Talk About Love" at "An Evening of Stars" TV special which honored Patti's music career. (The special was taped back in September but it recently air on TV.) Letoya nailed it completely. (Thanks Necole & LetoyaOnline!)

Venus first worn this strapless Carolina Herrera dress to The Metropolitan Museum Of Art Costume Institute Annual Gala back in May while new mom Lisa rock the same look at the 17th Annual Trumpet Awards. Both are camera/event ready but I think Lisa pulled it off. Which look is on lock?

The first official single ("Not Anymore") taken off Letoya Luckett's upcoming sophomore album, Lady Love, was written by Ne-Yo. Popular fansite, LETOYAONLINE.COM, has the song in full stream for you to check out. I think Letoya has another hit on her hands with this one. It's up there with the stellar success of "Torn." "Not Anymore" is definitely all types of Repeat-on-my-iPOD-potential!



The follow-up to 2006's LeToya is expected on April 7th with production by Pharrell, The Dream, Raphael Saadiq, Polow Da Don, StarGate, and Tricky Stewart. On the movie tip, Letoya just signed on to star in a new feature film based off her stage show, Preacher's Kid, according to various sources.

Letoya Luckett teamed up with my favorite R&B singer other Brian McKnight Avant on a new track called, "Somebody Else." (Thanks Necole!) Letoya's vocals and Avant's harmonies harmonies simply blend on the song which may possible show up on Letoya's stil untitled sophomore solo album out next year. If this "Torn"-ish track makes it to Letoya's upcoming album, wouldn't the video be hot with Letoya and Avant going back and forth?! Check it out and let me know what you think.





In an unexpected PR move, Swizz Beatz swiftly denied that Alicia Keys was the key factor in his divorce from Mashonda.
"I can no longer ignore the harmful rumors, that my friend Alicia Keys is in any way linked to my marital circumstances or to the decision that [my wife] Mashonda and I have made to separate. I am disappointed that some have chosen to try and tarnish Alicia's reputation by irresponsibly implicating her in a situation that she has absolutely nothing to do with. This experience has been one of the most difficult times in my life, and as was stated when we announced our separation several months ago, I ask that you continue to respect my privacy in dealing with this personal matter." I prefer that Swizz didn't talk and let folks talk instead but I guess all that Alicia Keys is a homewrecker hoopla bother him so.


Britney Spears announced yesterday that she would celebrate her 27th birthday (December 2nd) with the release of her new album, "Circus." Britney's record label Jive/Zomba also stated that "Womanizer" would be the lead track off the album...and maybe the following MSN-captured rehearsal video is a glimpse of what Britney has in plans on the choreography tip.




Rihanna slammed down reports of being in financial distress while talking about her upcoming album's recording process. Do expect more of the edgy Rihanna she presented in the past year! Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded" already has its final (8th!) single, "Breaking Dishes" to be included on the radio on October 7th - the same day as Beyonce's two new singles drops.

On what to expect on her new album:

Baby Phat fashion shows are always the spot to be so it comes as no surprise to see Serena Williams, Kat DeLuna, Letoya Luckett, Dania Ramirez, Coco, Ice T, Carmelo Anthony, LaLa, and Djimon Hounsou all squeezed into the front row to see what Kimora Lee had to offer for her Spring 2009 collection. (This year marked the 10th anniversary of Baby Phat.) Letoya was also spotted at Dsquared 2 show with Cassie.



A new song from Jennifer Hudson's self-titled album leaked onto the music blogs. The song in question is called, "Pocketbook" featuring Ludacris. Jennifer's album has its release date set on September 30th - the same day as Robin Thicke's "Something Else" album. Accoring to Brian, the song was produced by Timbaland hence the heavy yet catchy boomastic beat. Hopefully buzz from Jennifer's "Bees" film will keep the momentum going for her debut album.



Solange knocked out another performance set at Luxe Lounge before she cut it short to head back to her Houston home to evacuate her son Juelz from the threat Hurricane Ike has on that region. Solange got the crowd dancing along along with her when she performed "I Decided" and "Sandcastle Disco" on "Tyra." She was also seen at the 2008 Giorgio Armani Runway presentations.



Jermaine Dupri kept Janet Jackson fans thorougly entertained and informed about her "Rock WitchU" tour via several vblogs. In one of the clips, you can see Janet all shook up by the crowd's feedback. Janet even made a cameo to thank her fans for their support.




When I saw this AD in the "VIBE" magazine, I said "What a lucky girl, Ashanti is." Nelly followed the same saggy jeans look he had going on in this new Sean John Underwear AD. Speaking of Nelly, he will join Ashanti to perform "Body on Me" on the "Tyra." (Thanks Toya!)

Serena Williams and Tyra Banks became fast friends as they sat front row during Calvin Klein Spring 2009 fashion show. Tyra recently debut her new season of her daytime talk show with the eye-opening discussion on skin bleaching in the black community. A young mother of three willingly applied skin bleaching lotion on her three young sons. Check out Tyra's interview on the "Today Show."



Serena's older sister Venus Williams went for a walk to the Doo.ri Spring 2009 collection show with Vogue Editor-at-Large Andre Leon Talley. Venus was also spotted at Vera Wang with Andre before Serena joined them at the Zac Posen show.

LeToya Luckett has been everywhere in the Big Apple with her close friend/makeup artist A.J Crimson. She was spotted at Bryant Park for the Spring 2009 fashion shows and at LL Cool J's Exit 13 album release party. LeToya looked fab each time she stepped out...and she has her Lady Elle boutique to thank for her fierce style. Oh the perks of being a retail shop owner!

Michael Strahan held a charity golf tournament pre-party and auction celebration at TAO last night in New York City. Celebrity guest included LeToya Luckett, Alicia Keys, Fabulous, Eddie George, Osi Umeyiora of the New York Giants, Spike Lee, and Busta Rhymes.



On the fashion tip, Alicia had on a pair of red Melody Ehsani Swarovski Bamboo Hoops. Alicia has been a fan of Melody Ehsani as she also wore her designs to the 2008 BET Awards. The "Teenage Love Affair" singer also said she would turn in her retirement plans from music at age 30. “I am working hard now so I have the choice to retire when I want. I would like to travel the world and stay in places instead of having to move on like I do now. I want to experience difference cultures.”



I came along for the after party across the street at The Grand and bumped into LeToya and her makeup artist A.J Crimson. I also bumped into Busta Rhymes and his wife to be. (Get out of town- Busta's off the market was all I could think of. For the record Busta's NOT engaged to Deelishis!) Also at the after party were Dr. Ian Smith, Ja Rule, Malik Yoba, Nicole Murphy, and Alfonso Ribeiro.
