LATE NIGHT EDITION
John Legend listens to Nina Simone in a Lexus:
Glad to see that John has another lucrative endorsement deal under his Grammy winning belt. Legend describes how the music makes him feel, and how the energy gains momentum while listening to Nina Simone in a Lexus.
John also performed alongside Chrisette Michele and American Idol alum Ruben down in Miami last night:
Be sure to support Chrisette when she drops her album "I Am Chrisette Michelle" on June 19th. Check out her http://www.myspace.com/chrisettemichele for four exclusive songs.
Alicia Keys is featured in People's 'Most Beautiful' this year:
She's being honored for her work as the ambassador to the Keep a Child Alive, HIV/AIDS awareness foundation.
As seen on her myspace page, Trina is coming back to the music scene via mixtape called, "Southern Royalty" which drops this upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
Two songs that are sure to be club bangers are Party Like A Rockstarr (Remix) and DJ Khaled's We Takin' Over which features Lil' Mo, Jacki-O and Remy Ma. The female rappers are slowly but surely returning back to the male-dominated rap game. Eve's back and now Trina. I'm waiting on Foxy and Kim to come back. Mya was spotted rocking a black and white striped number at the Louis Vuitton's Party of LOVE bash at the designer's NYC flagship store:
Word is that her album, "Liberation" got pushed back. I'm still anticpating Mya's full-on return nonetheless.
Moving right along to Miss Serena Williams who looked flawless from head to toe:
Glad she's getting the hand of styling herself the grown and sexy way.
One of talented artist that still doesn't get mainstream love in the states is M.I.A. Hopefully when her second album, "KALA" drops June 26th (around the same time that 50 Cent and Kelly Rowland drops their LPs), people will pay better attention to her. I stumbled across M.I.A's debut effort two years and I'm glad I did. I'm just waiting on the rest of the mainstream music world to catch on M.I.A's eccentric sound. Nonetheless RAP-UP.COM obtained a track from M.I.A. called, "Hit That":

1. Here's a radio rip of Chris Brown's song, "Wall to Wall" [LISTEN]
With Chris and Ne-Yo both dropping their second albums quite soon would Usher's "Daddy's Home" comments ignite a R&B swagger musical fight? Just a thought...
