R&B singer Mýa has release the Marc Baptiste-directed video spot for her current single, "Paradise." The new Mýa track is taken from her new album, "Sugar & Spice" due out only in Japan as she said on her myspace page and this new blog site. Mýa hasn't had a major music video out on the scene since "Ridin'" and "Lock U Down."



Glad to see Mýa back on the music scene! The new album from Mýa drops on December 3rd in Japan.

Front row at Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 collection show were Nicole Richie, Joy Bryant, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. Jay-Z and Kanye both have new albums coming out this Fall and Kanye just gave the world a sneak preview of his new single, "Love Lockdown" at the VMA's. (By the way Nicole has on a HOT pair of velvet cut-out Pierre Hardy sandals.)



Brandy took in the Ports 1961 Spring 2009 fashion show in a printed top and grey denim. Her album, "Human" is one of the albums I plan on getting this Fall.



Close friends Bow Wow, Angela and Vanessa Simmons were spotted at the Betsey Johnson Spring 2009 fashion show. Bow and Angela are getting real close despites Superhead wanting him. These two would hopefully last longer thanks in part to Angela catching her ex boyfriend Terry Kennedy cheating on myspace.


You gotta love Angela's Black Halo cut-out dress. (And yes Adrienne Bailon, Mariah Carey, Audrina Patridge, and Jenny McCarthy all wore this look before.)



Back to Bow Wow for a moment, anyone saw this preview of his "Big Girls" video? If so, what are your thoughts on Bow catering to his 'big girls' fan base?



Speaking of music, Mya has a brief cameo in Maino's "Hi Hater - Remix" video. Is it sad that Mya has been reduced to being a video chick or it's a sign of her pushing forward after her album delay drama? T.I, Swizz Beatz, Piles, and Fabolous are also on the track. Check it out...




Janet Jackson knocked out a hot performance of her singles, "Rhythm Nation" and "Luv" at America United TV special. As to why "Luv" wasn't released officially simply escapes me. That song had some MUCH potential to be a hit. Donnie Klang according to JANETJACKSON.COM, there's two behind-the-scenes videos taken during her tour prepartion.

R&B songbird Mya was spotted relaxing on a beach in Barbados over the July 4th holiday weekend. According to her myspace page, Mya had a hosting gig at Club Manison in Florida on July 4th.




On the music tip, Mya's Broadway gig on "Chicago: The Musical" was postponed due to a foot injury she sustained while on the CBS reality show, "Secret Talents of the Stars". Mya also gained a new record deal with a independent label after leaving her Motown Records.

UPDATE: According to ISLANDISTA, Mya was a no show at a July 5th Club NXS event.
Mya was scheduled to host at a pretty major event in Barbados last night - the Celebrity Party @ Club NXS in St. Lawrence Gap. A few hundred people showed up, eager to give Mya some love. Now mind you, this is during the height of Crop-Over (carnival) season, with TONS of other events competing for attention that same night. Mya was not the only show in town by a long shot. (Well, simply put Islandista definitely put Mya on blast - damn!)

Eve was seen on her way to the MTV 2008 Australia Awards at Sydney International airport. Eve will perform and present for the first time at the live telecast.



Mya wore a plum-colored gown similar this Arthur Mendonça take at the "Le Reve: Indulge the Dream, Play 4 Parkinson's". The event was set to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research".



Iman and her husband David Bowie attended Vanity Fair's 7th Annual Tribeca Film Festical party. Iman also happens to be one of the few known folks that regularly updates her myspace profile.



Also at the cinema-themed event was Zoe Kravtiz (love her red Chanel bag) and Gayle King.



Nicole Richie and Joel Madden with their baby daughter Harlow were seen making their way through the airport. Earlier this month, Nicole supported her father Lionel Richie at the 2008 ASCAP Awards.

Soon after releasing her "Comeback" music video, Kelly Rowland was seen relaxing at the beach in Miami on Monday.




Leona Lewis of "Bleeding Love" fame and her boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa took in a brief romantic vacation at the Four Seasons Resort in Hawaii. Leona recently spoke with BILLBOARD.COM about the recording process of her aforementioned single.




Eva Pigford Marcille was seen in a sheer black top at the Vogue Lounge in Houston, Texas over the weekend. I do love those gold hoop earrings.




Mya was seen at Jordan Brand All-American Classic event. The R&B singer has a busy schedule next month which includes her Broadway gig and a book launch.

SMV and two-thirds of TLC also turn their attention to this addictive TV genre. Keyshia Cole, R. Kely, DMX, and Lil' Kim all had successful spots on BET. Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls was a fan favorite on "Dancing With The Stars".

Cheri Dennis would be my pick to jump on the bandwagon. (Just think - Jimmy Cozier might make a cameo or two.)

However thanks to YouTube, folks can simply uploaded their own clips for all to see. (For example, JD, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams all have daily video blogs.)

R&B singer Mya showed off her tap dancing skills on the new CBS reality show, "Secrets Talents of The Stars".

If you recall, Mya showcase a bit of her tap dancing moves in her "My Love Is Like...Wo" music video.

According to this news outlet, R&B crooner Brian McKnight will serve as one of three judges on the reality TV show.

As reported earlier, Mya is on board to join the Broadway play, "Chicago" from May 12th to July 13th.

Contemporary R&B artists Mýa and Destiny's Child both recorded the same song title "Free" at different times of their careers. I thought I'll re-visit this idea of songs that have the same title. [Thanks for the inspiration, Soul Bounce.] Do keep in mind, there are a million and one songs which YOUTUBE.COM can vouch for.

The soulful "Free" by Destiny's Child appeared on the trio's final studio effort, "Destiny Fulfilled" which was released back in 2004. Mýa recorded her pop-friendly hit "Free" for her sophomore disc, "Fear of Flying".

R&B starlet Mýa used her celebrity platform towards the 8th Annual North Shore Animal League's Tour For Life.

At the charitable event, Mýa signed copies of her music (pictured above) and she also conducted a raffle for tickets to her Broadway show, "Chicago". (This R&B singer sure knows how to promote her next gig, huh?) SOPHISTICATED LADY says that the soon-to-be Broadway actress can be seen in the upcoming comedy, "BottleWorld".

A new promotional picture featuring R&B singing sensation Mýa surfaced online via her unofficial fan-site, MYAHARRISON.NET. Mýa will be apart of the long-running Broadway musical "Chicago" as the character 'murderess Velma Kelly' from May 12th to July 13th.

Simply put, Mýa appearing on this play after acting in the film adaption is a bonus to her multi-faceted career. Mýa has proved in the past she can dance with the best of them AND she can act as she has three films in production.

Broadway can be the perfect avenue for Mýa to focus on before she moves onto producing her next music album.

In additional to her new acting gig, Mýa will release a music compilations disc entitled, "LIBERATION: The Series" later on in the year.

Alicia Keys on her New Year's resolution: I have a lot of philosophies. And my main one is the Golden Rule: I try my best to do for others what I would want done for myself, or to not do to them what I wouldn’t want done to me.

Rocking a multi-color maxi House of Dereon dress, R&B singer Kelly Rowland attended the 2007 Out 100 Awards at Ciprani Wall Street.

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson wore a cream Carmen Marc Valvo gown. The Chicago-native is my pick for best dressed of the year. Hudson is also on the cover of "Out" magazine.


Mya also attended the event in a fuschia strapless silk Arthur Mendonca gown. On the singer's official myspace, there's a new song called, "Backseat" which is said to be for the album "Smoke and Mirrors".
