The drama left behind in the previous season of "Making The Band" continues as Diddy acknowledge his latest upsetting tidbit. Apparently no one can get out of their Bad Boy recording contract.



The last season had D. Woods and Aubrey O'Day kicked out of Danity Kane while Day 26 and Donnie experience moderate success. Missing in action was Shannon Rex. (Hmm...) The new season of Making The Band 4kicks off on February 12th on MTV.

The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin belted out a soulful rendition of "My Country ‘Tis of Thee" in front of a estimated 2 million people earlier today in Washington, D.C. for the 56th Inauguration. Aretha took it back with that hat, didn't she? Other celebrity guests and U.S. President Barack Obama supporters included Diddy, Jay-Z, Oprah, Beyonce, Solange, and Muhammad Ali. Mrs. Carters sported retro Ray Bans while Solange kept it funky in fingerless gloves. Diddy was obviously in YouTube vblog mode.

The long awaited New York premiere of Biggie's biopic, "Notorious" was held last night at AMC Loews Lincoln Square. Many of Bad Boy artists and supporters were at the event except for Total, Mase, Lil' Kim and 112. Would you go see this film when it opens on January 16th?



Naturi, formerly of 3LW, talked about her Lil' Kim portrayal to Black Tree Media. Naturi said she hoped that Kim would be proud of what she did. Kim is said to be upset and disappointed with the casting as reported by Baller Status.



UPDATE: Voletta has since spoke out on Lil' Kim's remarks to Essence magazine.

“I saw a side of my son that I heard of but I haven’t accepted. I’m angered by certain things, disappointed and shocked. So this film taught me tolerance and to be less critical. I would love to speak to Lil’ Kim, because I need to ask more about this love relationship because I really didn’t like the way he treated her and I’m praying that that’s not it. Only she can answer those questions. She’s a sweet girl and I didn’t think she deserved to be treated the way he treated her, if that’s the case.”

At least no hard feelings were meant...

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon were spotted out and about in Aspen, Colorado in color coordinating outfits (again). They paid a visit to her mother’s jewelry store, Joan Boyce.



Diddy took his look-a-like son Christian Combs out for some quality father son time (re: shopping) on Robertson Blvd. Diddy and Christian also uploaded a new YouTube blog to wish all Merry Christmas. Diddy recently threw Christian's mother Kim Porter a surprise birthday party.



Leona Lewis and her boyfriend Lou went out for a night of clubbing at Funky Buddha in London alongside Keisha Buchanan of the Sugababes. Leona also performed a solid rendition of her latest ballad (and #1 hit), "Run" on "Top of The Pops" (The Christmas episode). Leona even pulled in a choir midway through.



UPDATE: Leona performed her new single, "I Will Be" on "The David Letterman Show." She just wrapped up the video spot for this track in Brooklyn with Gossip Girl actor Chace Chawford (not pictured). The Avril Lavigne/Max Martin-written track "I Will Be" served as the follow-up to "Better in Time" and "Run" off her album, "Spirit."

Kanye West dropped by Conan O'Brien's late night TV show to promote his new album, "808's & Heartbreak." He also performed his hit, "Heartless" and later talked about his clothing line, Pastelle. I'm digging his geeky chic style. It's a great interview...

Diddy dedicated his new fragrance "I Am King" to President-Elect Barack Obama, Muhammad Ali, and Martin Luther King Jr. In true Diddy fashion, Diddy positioned the clip as his black James Bond audition tape. Cassie and Diddy were up to their old habits in spirit of Halloween at New York City’s Lucky Strike Lanes. Cassie dressed up as Wonder Woman while Diddy -long pause- went as The Pope. Isn't it quite interesting where Diddy's hand is in the photo? FYI: Diddy celebrates his 39th birthday today!



All eyes were fixed on Chilli's ring finger when she was spotted at the Atlanta Hawks vs Philly game over the weekend. Maybe the ring was in support of her new Vh1 show - "Perfect Man for Chilli."



Lewis Hamilton and girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger celebrated his Formula 2008 world drivers championship title at the Brazilian Grand Priz in Sao Paulo on Sunday. Just like Chilli, Nicole has a huge engagement-type ring on her finger.



Brad Pitt and his daughter Zahara dressed up as leprechauns in Los Angeles for Halloween. Too cute!

Beyonce's upcoming third solo album, "I Am...Sasha Fierce" can be heard online via 7 Digital. The leaked track "Beautiful Nightmare" has a new sound and was renamed "Sweet Dreams." Standout tracks are the Sasha Fierce tracks, "Halo", "Radio", "Diva", "Echo" and "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It"). "I Am..Sasha Fierce" has its U.S album release date on November 18th.

Over the weekend, eyebrows were raised over Diddy and his twin daughters' appearance in "L'Uomo Vogue." That small setback was overlooked when Diddy added a new video blog where the twins (D'Lila Star and Jessie James) officially endorse Barack Obama for President. You can't knock Diddy for getting his girls into the business at a early age, can you? Was that Kim Porter or Cassie running in the background at :10? Check it out...



Aretha Franklin, the undisputed Queen of Soul, did a cover of Mariah Carey's hit single, "Touch My Body" at her concert stop in Washington, D.C. She did a great job and I'm certain Mariah is somehow feeling all flattered by the gesture. Leave it to Aretha to put her own spin on Mariah's song! That said, anyone catch Aretha on "The View" this morning? She was there to promote her first ever Christmas album, "This Christmas" and she also perform her hit, "Respect" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." Anyone else surprised that Aretha waited this long into her career to put out a Christmas disc?

(I see those diamond studs Diddy got for his girls. Why did Diddy decide to showcase the twins in their natural state?) Diddy had the following to say about his latest fashion magazine cover gig: "The concept of "Black on Black" in this story represents a level of strength, a level of beauty, a level of sexy and chic that I really want to portray. It's the future. And it's not just a race thing; it's almost a redefinition of the color. Think about how ignorant people actually make the color black represent something negative. Cassie and Evan Ross were spotted at the grand opening of Lucky Strike Bowling Lanes in New York City. I might paid a visit to this place next weekend.



Lauren London in Burberry mesh ankle strap platform sandals was seen at GlobalGrind.com's Countdown to Change launch party. (Lauren's close friends Khloe and Kim Kardashian are fans of these t-strap shoes which initially appear in the Burberry Prorsum S/S 2008 collection.)
