MIX MATCH STYLE TREND

Infusing two colors in her haute couture Prada, Couture Couture by Juicy , Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel outfits, actress Kerry Washington expertly set off her love for two-tone designs on the red carpet.

This is a style trend I noticed has rubbed off Kerry Washington's red carpet counterparts. Fashionistas are no longer rocking a one-color dress out on the red carpet. They're either mixing and matching or going for Kerry's two-tone look.

From left to right: Actress Thandie Newton in Matthew Williamson at a London bash, R&B songwriter Solange Knowles in a black and white Giambattista Valli dress at 2007 Essence Music Festival, R&B songstress Mya in Heatherette at NYC Fashion Week Spring 2008, Powerhouse vixen Ciara in Roberto Cavalli at the 2007 Grammy's, and lastly Rihanna in pink, black, and white Abaeté dress at Giant Magazine Party with a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps.

My take on this trend: There's tons and tons of fashionistas rocking this look like Nicole Scherzinger, Mariah Carey, Eva Pigford, Joy Bryant, Eva Mendes, and so on but these looks above caught my eye. Let's see if these coming months more of this mix match style trend would spruce up on the red carpet.

SOLANGE ADMITS SHE'S NOT MARRIED...ANYMORE

In an exclusive interview with Essence, Solange admits the one thing every gossip blog known over a year ago - she is no longer married to her NFL husband Daniel Juelz Smith (pictured above with former sister-in-law Beyonce Knowles).

Solange and Daniel were high school sweethearts who met each other when they were 13. The pair dated for seven years before marrying and having their three-year old child, Juelz. As for public appearances as a married couple, Solange and Daniel can be seen grooving in Destiny's Child music video, "Solider."

"Well, I am no longer married, but I think it’s very important not to dish details. We are friends and we coparent our son. When he gets older I don’t want him to read anything about me saying anything about his father or vice versa. When there’s a child involved I think the less information given is best." SOLANGE OUT & ABOUT IN MIAMI

Solange was spotted down in Miami Beach alongside Cee-Lo of "Gnarls Barkley" at hot night spot, Santo, this past Wednesday.

Cee-Lo, according to one of Solange's myspace blogs, will be working with her on her forhcoming album. Bilal, Q-tip, Marsha of Floetry, and Lil' Wayne are also featured on Solange's soon to be released record.

This past year, Solange has co-written sister Beyonce's biggest hits, "Get Me Bodied", "Flaws & All", and "Upgrade U." Solange has also promoted her hip-hop toy brand which has her son Juelz as its spokesmodel. Solange also lent her songwriting skills to Kelly Rowland's "Ms. Kelly."

SOLANGE IN THE CITY

Solange is busy in the city promoting her sophomore record, "Solange & The Headley Street Dreams" due out this Fall.

Last night in the NYC Spotlight Live, Solange headlined the R&B Live Concert Series which bought out Angela and Vanessa Simmons, Bow Wow, Beyonce, as well as Mathew and Tina Knowles.

No doubt Solange performed her new songs she posted up on her official myspace page.

A cause for celebration in a order for the young Knowles. According to this press release, "Big Jon Platt, Executive Vice President/Head of Urban at EMI Music Publishing, recently signed Solange Knowles to a worldwide co-publishing deal."

DEREON CANADIAN LAUNCH

*Yes folks Dereon is now known as Dereon by House of Dereon. Repitive, much? The Knowles nonetheless are working their fitted black and gold numbers to perfection.

Beyonce sister and soon-to-be manager Solange and her son Juelz stopped by the Today Show on Friday (8/10) to promote her new line of Hip Hop toys which she says were inspired by her son. Solange said her son gave her the OK to pimp him on TV and in print. Listen as Solange invents a new word 'Ryhthmitic' on national TV.

Solange, Kelly, and Michelle always were the business-savvy ladies in the Knowles clan. Michelle's co-owner of an WNBA team. Kelly's an spokesmodel for two beauty cosemtic companies. Solange writes music for her older sister, Beyonce, as well as Kelly and Michelle.

Seriously Beyonce and Tyra need to burn their lacefront wigs ASAP! Anyhow, aren't you at least curious to know what R obin said to Beyonce to get her laughing so hard?!

Soon after, she spent some quality time with her sister Solange, cousin Angie, and boyfriend Jay-Z down in Miami. [source]

Via Toya's World, Solange opens up about her upcoming Fall record. Apparently, Beyonce's kid sister has been busy working on her sophomore album, which was inspired by her son Juelz. She told MTV, "This record that I'm doing now, my songs are more about life and experiences. Than, 'I like you, you like me.' I actually want to talk about something that will one day influence him. It's just been an awesome journey, he's the best. Actually I'm working on a line of toys which will be out by Christmas. 'Baby Jam,' which is inspired by my son".

SOLANGE'S 21ST B'DAY BASH

Solange Knowles celebrated her 21st birthday down in Texas this past weekend. The bash attracted celebrity friends and family like sister Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, cousin Angie Beyince, Swizz Beatz, parents Tina & Mathew, and Jay-Z.

Just yesterday Beyonce and Jay-Z were spotted in NYC together shopping for most likely Solange's b'day gift.

Kelly's 2nd solo record, "Ms. Kelly" drops tomorrow.

All the fans had to do to get into the party was bring canned foods.

CIARA AT THE 2007 BET AWARDS

Ciara lit up the red carpet* in a backless number with a pair of sparkling Alexander McQueen pumps:

*Right behind Ciara is Solange. This is an interesting red carpet shot of Ciara and Solange. Ciara danced right in front of Solange during her performance of "That's Right." Hmm...am I the only one who caught that? Let me find out Ciara and Solange are beefing on the low. Solange and Bow Wow are good friends. Remember that video, "Puppy Love" Solange was in with Bow Wow? Remember the movie Bow Wow and Solange co-starred in?

During her performance of her singles, "Like A Boy" and "That's Right", Ciara rock a pair of football jerseys with the 22 and 25? on the back:

25 is ALSO the number of her "Like A Boy" video boo Reggie Bush too. Half of 50 is 25...so would that explain the question mark after the 25 Ciara had on her back??!

Just who Ciara with exactly? I got my money on 50. Did you peep 50 and Ciara sitting side by side during the show? So is 50 and Ciara the new couple on the block and are they just fronting?! Things that make me go hmm...

Ciara has team up with Tiffany Evans of "Diary of A Mad Black Woman" fame on Tiffany's debut single, "Promise Ring":

There should have been a tad bit more of Ciara and Tiffany grooving to the beat in the video but considering that Ciara's way taller than Tiffany I guess not. Anyhow, "Promise Ring" is a hot song.
