ASHANTI PROMOTES 'THE DECLARATION' IN NYC

R&B songbird Ashanti took over New York City in support of her current album, "The Declaration". (I got my copy today and the CD has officially become my favorite album from her aside from her debut record. I love "You're Gonna Miss", "Things You Make Me Do", and "The Way That I Love You".)

This morning, Ashanti put her promotional grind into overdrive as she rang the opening bell at the NYSE alongside Wendy Williams. (I'm digging that black YSL dress.) Then, Ashanti and her beloved Gucci Sevigny heels signed copies of her solo disc at Virgin Megastore.

Ashanti wrapped up her mini promo tour (for now) at a handprint ceremony at Planet Hollywood Times Square.

"The Declaration" has become an anticipated music project ever since the hoopla of her 2004 record, "Concrete Rose" died down. Check out this performance of "So Over You" at Ashanti's Myspace release show...

VIDEO HOOPLA WITH JD, WENDY, AND TRINA

Jermanie Dupri in his latest YouTube blog address the latest "Billboard" magazine cover. Apparently music producer Danja got the cover but Usher got the secondary billing.

JD certainly voiced his outrage about the situation. To be fair Danja produced many chart-topping hits since Usher's last album, "Confessions" dropped. Speaking of which, Danja recently told "KING" magazine that his dream collaboration would be producing Brandy's album.

Trina recently sat down with New York's gossip queen Wendy Williams:

DANITY KANE HOOPLA

The promotional grind in support of Danity Kane's second disc, "Welcome To The Dollhouse" kick up in high gear as the album dropped on March 18th. The R&B/pop group was seen at Tenjune for their album release party and at Best Buy to sign copies for their fans.

Rumor in the blogosphere is that "Welcome To The Dollhouse" sold between 250-350K on the first day of release! Be sure to check out Pop-Junkie who got all the questions answered by Dawn!

In April edition of "Right On" magazine, D. Woods and Aubrey spoke up about how they became broke after the group had a number one album. They even spoke about a lesson learned through Diddy. Check here to read the scan.

DANITY KANE DISHES OUT TO WENDY WILLIAMS

Danity Kane had a interesting radio interview with Wendy Williams.

The R&B female group discussed management, Diddy, Baps from Da Band, hooking up with their Making The Band male counterparts, and Aubrey's "pregnancy" and implants.

Part 2

Kevipod Music has a video clip of the band performing their new single, "Damaged" acapella.

And in related news, Aubrey O'Day wore a See by Chloe skirt to 'The Celebrity Apprentice' viewing party at Tenjune last night in New York City.

Speaking of Aubrey's skirt, Hilary Duff rock the same multicolor scallop print look as a mini-dress to the 18th Annual MuchMusic Video Awards.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MICHELLE WILLIAMS AND WENDY WILLIAMS

Wendy Williams held her "Blackout" bash at Dirty Disco earlier tonight in New York City. New York Jets Kerry Khodes, Wendy's husband Kevin Hunter, and her sidekick Charlamagne were there.

Michelle Williams attended the opening of "The Color Purple" in L.A which also bought out Regina King and LaToya London. Michelle is currently working on her R&B influenced album.

IRV GOTTI DID NOT SLEEP WITH ASHANTI

EURWEB.COM posted up a radio interview Irv Gotti did in promotion of his VH1 reality series, "Gotti's Way". The interview for the "Trey the Chocolate Jock Morning Jump-off" show at Power 92 Chicago gets interesting when Irv spills the beans about his record label The Inc's prized R&B starlet Ashanti. Irv again stressed he did NOT sleep with Ashanti like he claimed he did to Wendy Williams.

"I was on the air with somebody [and] that's what they do...so I felt no need to say like, 'Naw, it's not true' because all they were going to do is just keep at it. So then it became this whole thing, but you know I never said that, I never said that I slept with Ashanti or I have been with Ashanti." [source]

Listen to the interview here. Funny how Irv was quick to announce tidbits on Ashanti's upcoming "The Declaration" when her relationship with Nelly are rumored to be over. Irv does has a show to promote...

IRV GOTTI AND ASHANTI?!

Possibly the worse kept secret in the industry, Irv Gotti reveals to shock jock radio queen Wendy Williams that he slept with Ashanti WHILE he was a married CEO of hip-hop label, "The Inc."

Irv Gotti essentially put his secret out because he felt Ashanti didn't stick by the Inc during its heavily publicized financial woes. Apparently Irv lost all respect for his wife. DIDDY & MARIO WINANS' THROUGH THE PAIN (SHE TOLD ME): DEAR KIM VIDEO

Last night on BET's 106 & Park, Diddy and Bad Boy's best R&B singer/songwriter/producer Mario Winans premiered the video treatment to Diddy's Press Play FOURTH single, "Through the Pain (She Told Me): Dear Kim." The song is an ode to his relationship with Kim Porter. So is this song picking up right where "I Need A Girl" left off at?! Word is their split would make Kim Porter 1.2 million richer in child support payments. So as I argue with a friend of a friend, wouldn't it be cheaper to keep her?

According to Page Six:
“With Misa Hylton-Brim receiving approximately $30,000 a month, there is no reason that Ms. Porter shouldn’t be able to get close to $100,000 or more per month in child support,” celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder told Page Six. “That amount accounts for Porter having three children with Combs and inflation in the years since Misa received the ruling in her case. One thing I know is that Diddy knows how to keep his name out in the media."

Diddy is also looking for replacement---an assistant that is.

During her part two interview with Essence.com, Tameka Foster, aka Usher's legit jump off, claims Wendy Williams is obsessed with her:

Essence.com: You aren't just talked about in cyberspace; you're being shouted out on the airwaves as well, especially by shock jock Wendy Williams.
Tameka Foster: Wendy Williams is obsessed with me. I think that is so sexy to have someone talk about me every day, especially when I don't have a CD, demo or TV pilot. I'm just a stylist and designer and if I can be mentioned in the same breath as Diddy, then I must be doing something right. I think she loves me more than she lets on. I need to make her a part of my marketing team.

ROBIN GIVENS TO PLAY WENDY WILLIAMS

Ex-wife of Mike Tyson/actress Robin Givens WILL portray NYC gossip maven Wendy Williams in the upcoming film, "Queen of All Media."

Earlier today, Tank dropped by "The Wendy Williams Experience" to discuss "Sex, Love & Pain," TGT, and his ~~girlfriend~~ friend Robin Givens.

Tank was coy about what exactly is going on between him and Robin Givens. {Basically, Tank is still hitting Robin Givens.} His next single will be "Heartbreaker."
