In the current newsstand edition of PEOPLE magazine, Raven-Symoné talked about her successful career, her self-esteem, and her haters.


On how the constant scrunity of her body sometimes shakes her self-esteem: My conflict in life is just making sure that I remember that I'm beautiful just the way I am, no matter what size I am. I'm thick and fabulous! I don't care how many hater sites are out there. I'm absolutely fabulous.

On plans to continue her mini-empire: When I was younger, people would ask me if I wanted to be behind the scenes and I would scream, 'Never!' As I grow up, I'm like, 'This can only last for so long. I can only put in so many weaves, so much makeup.' I think when I turn 25 or 26, after you've seen me grow up a little bit, I'll back away [from the camera]. And then I'll come back as a serious force.

On her Internet haters: It hurt the first few times I read [them] and then after that I was like, 'Oooh, this makes me want to [succeed] more just for you, just so you can say more about me. How about that?'

"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" had its Broadway opening night last night in New York City. The play's stars James Earl Jones, Boris Kodjoe, Terrence Howard, Anika Noni Rose, Debbie Allen, and Phylicia Rashad were all in attendance.

The cast recently sat down with Vanity Fair to express their thoughts on turning Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning story to a Broadway play:

My favorite line is: ‘Mendacity is a system that we live in,’ ” says Terrence Howard, who is making his Broadway debut. Howard, who earned an Academy Award nomination as best actor for Hustle and Flow, plays the tormented Brick—a major challenge, he admits. “He’s got so many things he’s hiding from,” Howard says. Beyonce Knowles, who in the past made it clear about becoming one of the first American American females to attain all the major show business awards, will serve as an executive producer in the upcoming thriller, "Obsessed". Her father and manager Mathew Knowles also executive produce the film.

Via VARIETY.COM: In "Obsessed," Idris Elba will play an asset manager who has a knockout wife (Knowles) and thriving career until a temp office worker (Ali Larter) begins stalking him.



The good fortune from Fantasia Barrino's successful Broadway run is moving on the big-screen. Oprah Winfrey announced plans of making the scond film adapation of the popular Alice Walker novel, "The Color Purple" with Fantasia as the lead star, Miss Celie.

Fantasia confirm the news to MTV Movies Blog: “Working with someone like Miss Oprah who’s so talented and amazing - It’s a blessing.” The "When I See You" singer also said she'll be focusing on her music career before joining the film full on.

Usher's new album and follow-up to "Confessions" reportedly will drop this June. "Love In This Club" featuring Young Jeezy is the lead single off the tentatively titled Usher record, "Here I Stand".

According to Rap-Up, Usher’s new single “Love in This Club” is the #1 song in the country after jumping from #51 to the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is Usher’s eighth #1 single in the U.S.

Fresh off the news of a digital release for her second solo album, Kelly Rowland confirmed her breast augmentation.

Necole Bitchie reported that, "...[Kelly] went from an A cup to a B cup and has been considering this surgery since she was 17". In Kelly's words: "...I didn't want double D's and be a little bitty size 2 - that would look nuts!" Click here to watch the video.
