The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards kicked off last night in Los Angeles with several known faces from night time television. "Mad Men" and "30 Rock" were the two's biggest winners. (I hate to admit that I haven't seen not one episode of either show. I do enjoy "Ugly Betty" and "House.")



My best dressed picks went to Eva Longoria Parker in a flapper-inspired Marchesa cocktail number, Vanessa Williams in a custom-made Kevan Hall dress, Heidi Klum in a asymmetrical Armani Prive gown, and Sandra Oh in Oscar De La Renta.



Many looked fab and others let their dates shine like Diddy and his mother Janice Combs. Alfre Woodward of the current Tyler Perry film, "The Family That Preys" came to the event with her daughter Mavis. Wayne Brady was a presenter with Kate Walsh as were America and Vanessa.




Heidi Klum, one of the five reality TV-based Emmy hosts, kept changing into one show-stopping number over and over again including a Project Runway alum Christian Sirano design. No signs of Heidi's husband Seal on the red carpet though...



Entertainment Weekly's 6th Annual Pre-Emmy Celebration:
Nicey Nash came with her boyfriend while Dania Ramirez arrived solo. Omar Epps wore the same gray vest he had on at T.I's private dinner...while his wife Keisha Spivey rock some hot paint-drip pumps.

Vanessa Williams in her tweed suits was seen on the "Hannah Montana" movie set in Los Angeles. (Check out this brief clip taken from the set over at E Online.) Vanessa just received a Primetime Emmy nomination for best supporting actress role in the ABC comedy series, "Ugly Betty."



For those of you who are curious, Vanessa wore a Simply Vera Vera Wang pleated dress while out with her daughter Jillan at La Scala restaurant. Kohl's has Vanessa's dress listed for $78.00 but it's now on sale for -drumrolls please- $23.00!



Unfortunately, the dress is currently sold out but EBAY.COM has it for $34.95!

"Ugly Betty" actress Vanessa Williams had a lunch date with her daughter and her daughter's friend at La Scala restaurant in Beverly Hills. Vanessa and her children did a one page photo session for the May 2008 edition of "Ebony" magazine. So the daughter with Vanessa can be Sasha (the youngest), Melanie (the oldest) or Jillan (the middle one). (I guess that's Sasha then!) Seventh Square has the fashion hoopla on Vanessa's yummy yellow tote. Soon after their lunch date, mother and daughter headed over to the Malibu set of Vanessa's latest film project, "Hannah Montana: The Movie."



Earlier today, Kelly "I'm living in the U.K now" Rowland sported a tee shirt that read "Kelly + Trevor + Eva" outside London's BBC Studio 1 radio. Kelly all week long has a co-hosting gig for the Breakfast show with Trevor Nelson.

Michelle Williams and her new all-black dye hairstyle visited MTV's "TRL" yesterday afternoon to release the premiere her "We Break The Dawn" video. Michelle as she blogged on her Myspace page, said the video wouldn't appear on BET because the video was deem 'less urban.' BET has Michelle on board as their host for the 2008 BET Awards nominees special AND the host of an upcoming "BET Now" episode.




Soon after her performance at the 2008 MuchMusic Awards, Rihanna had dinner at her favorite restaurant Da Silvano in New York City's Greenwich Village last night. The last time Rihanna was seen at her favorite eatery she sported a sleekier black 'do but this time around Rihanna's hair was a noticeable brunette. Rihanna also has a movie role in the upcoming film, "Mama Black Widow".




Kerry Washington, Amerie, Tichina Arnold and Nicey Nash were some of the fashion forward women who attended Nanette Lepore's Fashion Votes event at the designer's Los Angeles boutique.

Vanessa had daughter Sasha with ex-husband Rick Fox, who made a guest spot on her successful ABC show, "Ugly Betty". Former NY Giants Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy (Eddie Murphy's ex-wife) had eyes for one another as they attended the 7th Annual Samsung Four Seasons of Hope Gala at New York's Ciprani. You have to love those Lorraine Schwartz hoop earrings Nicole has on.
