Forest Whitaker, Keri Hilson, Timbaland, and Usher supported GQ Magazine’s hosting of The Gentlemen Ball in New York City. Usher who just celebrated his 30th birthday on Monday looked sharp in a purple polo sweater while Keri let her Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci booties be her outfit's centerpiece. Ne-Yo decided to take the high road when asked about the comments Young Berg recently made about him. As told to MTV News, Ne-Yo definitely expressed that he's not interested in entertaining the feud. And I quote, "Response for what? That ain't my lane, dude. I don't beef. I don't do that. That ain't my thing. I don't do dis records. I don't do beef. I don't do any of that blogs talking about cats. I don't do that. That ain't my thing. I'm a grown man. I got money to make. I can't work with people that's doing this for the fame element or the money element. I think that's what's destroying music. You got cats out here that are copycatting and doing stuff that's popular. You know, doing it because that's what's in right now, whatever the case may be — but basically what you're doing is killing music. You're killing the creative element of what this is, which was the basis of this whole thing, which is self-expression." Angela Bassett was reward with the 2,358th star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. Right by her side were her twins (son Slater Josiah and daughter Bronwyn Golden), her husband Courtney Vance, Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, Eva Marcille, and her "Meet The Browns" co-stars Rick Fox and Lance Gross.

The talented actress cried as she accepted her speech:

“Do you ever have one of those days? I woke up and the sun wasn’t really shining but then it burst through the clouds and it was glorious. Hallelujah!” Bassett, 49, exclaimed to the crowd at the ceremony for the 2,358th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 2008 Film Independent's Spirit Awards kicked off last night in Santa Monica.

Guests at the star-studded ceremony were Jada Pinkett Smith, Kerry Washington, Aisha Tyler, Forest and Keisha Whitaker, Zoe Saldana, Don Cheadle, Eva Mendes, a pregnant Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt.

The 2008 Film Independent's Spirit Awards show will air live on IFC at 5 p.m. EST Saturday.

The 14th Annual Screen Actor's Guild Awards jump started the delayed red carpet hoopla in 2008.

Regardless of the current WGA strike, stars like Tichina Arnold, Forrest and Keisha Whitaker, Eva Longoria Parker, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, America Ferrera, and Vanessa Williams were all presented.

Ruby Dee was recognized by the award ceremony for her work in "American Gangster" in the outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role category.

Earlier today, two urban entertainment blogs Concrete Loop and Toya's World reported that Jay-Z and Beyonce has matching tattoos (a roman numeral-"IV") on their wedding ring finger. Do keep in mind that Beyonce and Jay-Z were both born on the 4th...but I wouldn't put pass these two to pull a Janet and Rene on the world.


Speaking of Beyonce, she's busy in Italy promoting the launch of Emporio Armani Diamonds at Italian "TRL". Isn't that the same dress Scarlett Johansson rock on the November cover of "Elle" magazine?


At Mckinley Children's Center, Nick Cannon got into the Holiday spirit via gift giveaway alongside Christian Audigier (the designer behind Ed Hardy). Nick Cannon recently opened up about his relationship with Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks who is rumored to be dating tennis champ Blake Lewis. Nick on the lines of communication between him and Selita: "We're still cool. I talked to her today. We're still real good."



At New York City's Soho Grand Hotel, R&B crooner Maxwell and actress Rosie Perez pose for the cameras for The Cinema Society screening of "Cassandra's Dream" after party.

Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker, and Jurnee Smollett attended "The Great Debaters" New York premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater . Denzel (who recently donated $1 million to a Texas college to restart the Debate squad) walked the red carpet with his wife Paulette Pearson.
