Pharrell Williams and his
N.E.R.D counterparts filmed the video treatment for their single, "Everyone Nose" (remix) with music video director
Hype Williams. On set were
Kanye West and who I think looks like
Lupe Fiasco. Pharrell posted up a few behind-the-scenes on his official blog,
BILLIONAIRE ICE CREAM.
Malinda Williams (no relations to Pharrell) updated
her wedding blog with photos and a slideshow done by her husband-to-be Derrick "DJ D-Nice" Jones.

LUPE FIASCO - 'MY RADIO IS BETTER THAN YOURS' VIDEO
Lupe Fiasco may have hinted that
his upcoming album will be his last but that tidbit hasn't slowed down his current record's promotional blitz.
Lupe recently premiered the video treatment for his single, "My Radio is Better Than Yours" off his
newly RIAA-certified gold sophomore disc, "The Cool".
Lupe has an ongoing nationwide gig with
Rihanna and

MUSIC HOOPLA: ASHANTI LOVES SNP WHILE LUPE MIGHT RETIRE
"The Way That I Love You" singer
Ashanti admitted that favorite act to appear on "Yo! MTV Raps" was Salt-N-Pepa.
"Some of my favorite memories from 'Yo! MTV Raps' would have to be Fab 5 Freddy with his hat and his glasses," she recalled. "He always kept it very classy and sassy and 'hood, all at the same time. Some of my favorite female rappers from the 'Yo!' era ... YoYo, definitely. Salt-N-Pepa. I think Salt-N-Pepa, definitely are always gonna be relevant, 'cause they were the first ...They were sexy and still kinda approachable. Not raunchy, and they just kept it real from the early stages. Everyone had the Salt-N-Pepa haircut. I was too young for it, but a lot of my cousins were rockin' it. 'Push It' was phenomenal. Still is. Still rocks in the club!" [MTV NEWS]
Ashanti's
27th birthday bash at Cafe Durpri certainly proved that she's a fan of the female hip-hop group.
Fresh off
two back-to-back music video premieres,
Lupe Fiasco dropped a bombshell.
Lupe claimed that he is 85% sure that his next album will be his last.
I don't want to say I'm 100 percent sure, like, 'Yeah, this is it.' But 85 percent," he revealed. "That 15 percent is the X factor. That could be bills. Like, 'Lupe, you got to pay the bills.' 'Oh, man, I got to put out another album.' "
Fiasco says that the wear and tear of the music industry has taken its toll on him, physically and mentally. But he insists that he hasn't lost the passion for making music, just for the business of putting it out. [READ MORE AT MTV.COM]

SIGHTINGS: KIDADA, RUSSELL, LUPE AND ESTELLE
Kidada Jones launch hosted the Disney-oriented collection, "The Art of Pooh" last night in Los Angeles. (FYI: Kidada
debuted a special painting created just for the show. The entire collection was done by an array of Disney artists.) Her sister

Peggy Lipton were in attendance. Kidada launched another collection with the Disney brand
last year which bought friends
Nicole Richie,
Sanaa Lathan and
Paula Patton.
Russell Simmons held his Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation reception at the Delano hotel in Miami Beach.
Larry Johnson bought along his girlfriend

John Legend was there with his girlfriend Christine Teigen. Porschla Coleman was right by her boyfriend Russell's side at the event.

CHRIS BROWN AND LUPE FIASCO FREESTYLE

Chris Brown and
Lupe Fiasco busting out a freestyle backstage at one of their shows. Maybe Lupe would hop on Chris' next project or vice versa....
UPDATE: Chris Brown spoke with
MTV NEWS about the upcoming re-release of his sophomore record, "Exclusive".
"It's very fortunate, my label wants me to repackage the album and release some new records," he explained to MTV Base while on his European tour last week. "I've been recording a lot of new records as well as having some songs that haven't been released yet that I can put on my repackaging. I might put my tour that I did in the States on my repackaging. I did a big tour in the States. I want to put that in the DVD part, add some of my videos on it."
Chris also revealed that he's working on new material with
Polow Da Don...
"Forever" was produced by Polow Da Don and is one of the cuts Brown laid down recently. Originally, the plan was to follow up his current single, "With You," with the Kanye West-featuring "Down," but the new material won out. The song was penned by Brown and his songwriting team, the Graffiti Artists. (Besides Chris Breezy, two other guys comprise the crew.)
"We went into the studio, Polow gave me a beat, and I just started writing. His record is more of a European, techno, house-type feel," Brown recalled. "We wanted to give it that other side of crossover, and go a little bit to that pop realm. Hopefully, [I'll] be the Prince of Pop. I don't want to say I'm the King; I just hopefully can be the Prince of Pop." [KEEP READING...]

LUPE FIASCO'S HIP-HOP SAVED MY LIFE VIDEO
Lupe Fiasco released the video treatment of his third single, "Hip-Hop Saved My Life" with Nikki Jean via his
official blog. "Hip-Hop Saved My Life" followed the
same artistic concept behind Lupe's previous singles, "Dumb It Down" and "Superstar" which is taken off his sophomore disc, "The Cool".
With a cameo by Bun B, the video was directed by Dr. Teeth. For inquiring minds, Nikki is an up and coming songwriter and singer with a large following on her
MySpace page and
her official YouTube page.

LUPE FIASCO'S SUPERSTAR VIDEO
The video treatment for
Lupe Fiasco's new smash hit, "Superstar" debut earlier today. "Superstar" featuring Matthew Santos serves as the lead single off Lupe's upcoming record, "The Cool".
Fans hoping for the
Child Rebel Solider song that had Pharrell the song originally for "The Cool", Kanye and Pharrell hop right on the track upon hearing the melody. This much-talked about collaboration "Us Placers" between Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, and Lupe (better known as the supergroup, CRS)
wouldn't appear on the album.

LUPE'S LYRICAL FIASCO
Ever since the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors wrapped, talk has been about
Lupe Fisaco forgetting the lyrics during
A Tribe Called Quest tribute AND how he stressed how the poineer group is not influential.
“[Tribe] didn’t sell 10 million records, so why would people think they had a blanket on the world like that? MC Hammer was way more popular to me than Tribe Called Quest.”
“Because there’s kids in Harlem who right now who would never ever listen to Midnight Marauders, I don’t give a fuck what you do, they’ll never listen to Q-Tip and they want to be rappers and they want to talk about positive things. So why would you shoot them down?”
“It’s like, ‘Oh, you ain’t never listened to Midnight Marauders? You ain’t expanding your horizons? Oh, you ain’t real’ cause they did that shit to me! ‘Oh Lupe, that’s fucked up man, I don’t fuck with you now! I’m not buying your next album’ and be dead serious! It made me feel like, ‘You dirty bastards! Like how dare you hypocritical.”

PREVIEW LUPE FIASCO'S SUPERSTAR
Over the weekend,
Hot 97 played this new song by Lupe Fiasco called, "Superstar."The track features Matthew Santos (and not Chris Martin from Coldplay like I thought). "Dumb It Down" is NOT the lead single off Lupe's upcoming album, "The Cool"
as I reported.
"Food & Liquor" is one of my top 10 favorite hip-hop albums all because of the songs "Real", "Pressure", "Kick, Push", "I Gotcha", "Daydreamin'", and "Hurt Me Soul." As to yet why Lupe hasn't reach the level of his mentors Kanye West and Jay-Z, I honestly don't know. His lyrics goes beyond what some hip-hop artists are discussing.
