Jennifer Lopez sparked divorce rumors because she didn't wear her (wedding ring) with her draped Marchesa dress. (Maybe the bling didn't match her fab dress??!) Here's another fun installment of Urban-Hoopla's Best of 2008. This time around let's focus on celebrity weddings.



Weddings: 2008 was the year of weddings. From The Carters (Beyonce & Jay-Z) to The Cannons (Mariah & Nick) weddings occurred year around.

Malinda Williams and Derrick "DJ D Nice" Jones - Malinda documented her bridal showers and pre-wedding prepartions via a blog on Essence. When they finally got hitched in New Jersey, their celebrity friends Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker, Vanessa Williams and Terri J. Vaughn all came through with support.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon - These two came across as an unlikely pair when they wed on April 30th. The Cannons event set tongues ablaze via their matching his/her tattoos. (Nick has Mariah's name across his back and she has "Mrs. Cannon" on her lower back.)

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict - "The Game" actress wed her long-time boyfriend Cory with her fraternal sister Tamara and brother Tahj in attendance.

Eddie Murphy & Tracey Edmonds - Just as soon as these two tied the knot, they quickly filed for divorce.

Kanye West performed a freestyle of his single, "Pinocchio Story" from his new album, "808's & Heartbreak" during his concert gig at Singapore. In related news, Kanye has said that hip-hop has become too 'cliche' for him. And I quote the source: "This is not hip-hop music. Taking a sample, looping it and doing all that 'throw your hands up in the sky' thing has become such a cliche. Hip-hop is over for me. I sing, not rap, on this album. I now want to be grouped among those musicians you see in those old black-and-white photos - the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles. And I'm not going to get there by doing just another rap album full of samples. I've had to create a whole new musical genre to describe what I'm doing now and I'm calling it 'pop-art' - which is not to be confused with the visual art movement." (Kanye may be onto something with that statement.)



Seal has a new video premiere taken from from his album, "Soul" for the single, "People Get Ready." I like how all of the videos he released so far are done in black and white. I love the way he performed the song live. The song is a remake of the classic The Impressions song.

Q-Tip has finally release the video spot for his current single, "Renaissance Rap" off his album, "The Renaissance." Isn't it hard to believe that this album is only his second solo effort?!? I hope he releases my favorite track "Life Is Better" featuring Norah Jones next.



Check out Seal's video for his latest single, "I Can't Stand The Rain" off his new tribute album, "Soul." (The original was a 1973 Ann Peebles tune made famous by Missy Elliott's "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)." Nice remake, huh?) So far Seal has release two songs off his album and there's talks of a tour in 2009.



The full commerical spot for Rihanna's Gucci Tattoo Hearts Collection debut online yesterday. Gucci named Rihanna as their UNICEF global representative. Anyone noticed the star tattoo design on the Gucci bag matches Rihanna's own?



Tatyana Ali from "TV One Access" interviewed Beyonce recently. The former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actress talked with Beyonce about her album, "I Am...Sasha Fierce", her Oscar wish, and why she wants to be known as a icon instead of a it girl. (Great to see Tatyana moving on from acting to journalism.) According to early estimates, Beyonce's record is expected to pull in 500K copies the first week.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show kicked off in Miami Beach with a special performance by Usher. In attendance were Seal, Heidi Klum, The Kardashian Sisters, Aubrey O'Day, Gabrielle Union, Mario, and Lenny Kravitz. CBS will air the show on December 3rd.

Style has always been fun for former Danity Kane vocalist Aubrey O'Day.



The sexiness that is Lenny Kravitz was seen at the event. Lenny cancelled his Canadian Tour dates because of his severe throat problems.



Cassie showed up in a gold Herve Leger dress (the same dress spotted on Alicia Keys & Aubrey O'Day) and Pierre Hardy shoes.

Chris Brown and Rihanna in matching red hoodies made their way through Perth Airport in Australia. The twosome are currently on tour together. Yesterday they were seen shopping in Sydney separately. According to this news source, Chris purchased $800 worth of lingerie for Rihanna. (Do you believe that gossip tidbit??)



Heidi Klum and Seal also made their way through a major airport but this time they were seen at LAX Airport. Seal has a new retro-soul album coming out soon called, "Soul" (out Nov. 11th). Yesterday Seal and Heidi took their kids to the park.

Halle Berry sported a Barack The Vote tee shirt and her beloved Versace bag while shopping at Century City in L.A. Across the globe, Heidi Klum and Seal went on a family vacation in Rome. Halle fired back at the paparazzi for releasing photos of her daughter Nahla Ariel Aubry. The Oscar-winning actress went as far to say, "The paparazzi have gone too far." Meanwhile Heidi will join Ryan Seacreast to co-host the Emmy Awards this September.



Halle's Barack tee marks the third time she openly supported the Democratic Presidential nominee. Halle first wore the political tee-shirt back in April 2007 and recently this past March. Seal and his wife Heidi Klum were spotted leaving Da Silvano restaurant last night in New York City.



Heidi recently spoke with "Redbook" magazine about having more children...

"So many people say, 'I am so done.' That hasn't come out of my mouth, and it hasn't come out of Seal's mouth either," the Project Runway host, 35, tells Redbook magazine in its July 2008 issue. "I feel like we still have one coming."

Seal and Heidi have two sons Henry, 2, and Johan, 1 and daughter Leni, 4.

Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian hosted an all-white party in the Hamptons over the Memorial Day Weekend. Reggie took a break from his training with the New Orleans Saints to be with Kim. Reggie's girl later confirmed to PEOPLE.COM, "The fact that he came with me all the way to the Hamptons on his day off when all of his friends are in Las Vegas on their usual – you know, [getaway]."

Beyonce and Jay-Z got cozy while out and about in Cannes. Reportedly Beyonce has been asked to sing the James Bond theme song after Amy Winehouse dropped out of the position. If the agreement goes through, Beyonce will "...join that ranks of Shirley Bassey, Gladys Knight and Tina Turner as the only African American women to the have the honor of creating the theme song for such a long lasting franchise", according to BVB.


Earlier today, Seal and his wife Heidi Klumn were caught in some serious lip lock game outside LAX airport. Just in case you missed Seal's performance on the season 7 finale of "American Idol" re-visit that moment here.

On-again/off-again couple Lil' Kim and Ray J enjoyed a quiet dinner. I guess these two are just friends as Ray supposedly proposed to Whitney Houston. Kim just released a new single called, "Respirator".
